I don't really know. Just remember one day starting it up and once I put it in drive it had a weird sound coming out the exhaust whenever I accelerated. Didn't think to much of it until I started it up the next day and it felt like the engine was being choked. Took it to the dealer and they said the front catalyst melted and plugged up the secondary. They had to replace the pipe, gaskets, A/F and 02 sensors. I'm just happy it was all under warranty :yay:

Strange. Ever run it out of gas? That'll kill a cat.

Never, usually fill it up to the top when i get around 3 gallons because i don't want to put stress on the fuel pump

That's strange. Maybe some contaminated gas or something. Definitely not normal at that mileage.

I have 87k on my 06' tacoma sr5 pre-runner 2.7L. And am wondering when I should change the spark plugs on this truck. Have done the oil change and got a k &n airfilter. I'm not sure when to do the plugs.

My 98 Sr5 has 255k. Rust free, only driver's seat is torn, otherwise looks like no one has ever ridden in it! Needs new coil overs, shocks and exhaust manifold - next week. I thought everyone would think I was crazy buying a truck with such high mileage but the common response is, "it's Toyota". My mechanic laughed and told me about a friend who's Tacoma has 550k on it! :)

I plan on putting at least 500k on mine, if not a million. I just bought it tuesday, and already have 170 miles on it. It had 40 when i took it home.

they get changed at 100K. i believe you also need to change the coolant at that point as well. i'm going to also change all the coolant hoses at that point, as well as the heater hoses. might as well. right.

just rolled 86K on the 06. i've developed a small annoying squeak in the back right that only shows when the engine is under load. thought it was the exaust hangers, but now i'm leaning towards the leaf springs.

"hoses at that point, as well as the heater hoses" just wondering - is that in a maintenance schedule somewhere or just something you feel is a good idea ? Thanks. Curious George.
