so the problem is, they only see a few, so all the research and development costs are spread out over a small number of units.

Format as a % in excel and excel multiples by a 100 for you. Put 10 in excel, format as a percent, and you get 1000%. Before excel us old farts had to multiply by 100 ;)

Try doing your logic backwards, what is 10% of 50. Do I not have to divide by 100 to get the right answer, or is 500 the answer?

You may not agree with me, but many people don't agree with the police.

I was talking more about my own model: access cab 4x4 in canada.

Between 2009 4cyl and 6cyl both manual: 2718.75$ with tax. Still would like more a supercharger for the slightly higher cost, will save in gas in the long run anyway.

correct, i fat-fingured it. doesnt 17.6% seem a tad high?

as for more boost (as some are asking), cant you put a smaller pully on the belt-driven turbo?

you don't multiply to get a %. When you change from a decimal to a % you shift the decimal two places and add the % sign. 0.176 = 17.6%

    0.176 * 100 = 17.6 = 1760%

    .176 = 17.6%

i understand what you are doing and why you are doing it, but from a pure math standpoint, it is incorrect. :)

no doubt it would be cool.

any thoughts on how the rest of the driveline would hold up?

i admit, i wouldn't mind giving second gear a whirl with this bolted on.

You don't own a calculator, do you? Everything you said here is cocky and unfounded. You cannot shift a decimal without multiplying or dividing. That's the way numbers work. Put your computer away and read a book, dummy.

    considering 10% = .1

    the calculator version would be.

    50 * .1 = 5

but seeing that people lack basic knowledge of %'s you would most likely do it as

    10% = 10

50 * 10 = 500 then you have to do the extra step of / 100 to get the correct answer 5

but as we all know 10% does not equal 10, rather 10% = 0.1

    :)

Little bit of a thread hijack, I know. But for linking the iems unit to the O2 sensor, can you replace the stock sensor with a wideband one and alter the signal through the unit to make the ECU think it's a normal signal? Wondering if you could save drilling more holes into the exhaust that way.

i dont think so because otherwise you dont have a sensor "plugged" into the ecu.

Shot them an e-mail, just got their response:

Hi Al, The original fuel pump has the capacity to cope with additional fuel. If the pump has done high mileage it advisable to have the pressure checked. The stock clutch will handle the extra torque under normal conditions, If you are going off road you might have to upgrade the clutch. The includes a pretuned piggyback and the software that is end-user tunable. Regards John

So software is end-user tuneable. Not Unichip then?
