Eh, I don't even know what the hell the liter is for.. Is that how much gas it uses?
Not really an engine guy.. Usually when people talk engines, I nod my head and say wow.. lol
Agreed though, once you get something cool, you start trying to learn things about it..

Your engine has 2.7 litres of displacement and there are five lugnuts on each wheel. I'll be on my way now. Good luck and God speed.

The 1st gen Tacoma's (1995.5-2004) had two four cylinder options. The 2.4 (2rz-fe) and the 2.7 (3rz-fe) The 2nd gens (2005 to current) had only one four cylinder option the 2.7 (2tr-fe) So your truck has the 2.7 (2tr-fe). :D

I remember being 16, 18 , and watching people who were 30-50 get mad when you asked a question. I try to remember not to be like them we were all there once.

At some point before you change a tire, its just a nut maybe a wheelnut or whatever. They don't teach lugnut, 5-lug, hubcentric, A.S.E. , offset, camber and on n on in school it's up to us to pass it on.

...and for the O.P. ...... keep the rims under 17" please:D

I'm glad to see someone not afraid to ask a question. How much would he have been flamed if he didn't ask and then bought a CAI or headers for the wrong engine and then asked. I could just see someone saying "why didn't you ask"...

In my book, no such thing as a dumb question except for the one you didn't ask when you should have. If you don't know, ask; It is the "information age" after all.:deadhorse:

4-cylinder engine displacement = pi x (radius of cylinder bore squared) x stroke x 4 (cyl)
    Engine bore = 95mm (or 9.5cm), 1/2 of bore = radius = 4.75cm bore radius
    4.75 cm (squared) x pi = 22.56 sq cm x 3.14159 = 70.88 sq cm (area of piston crown)
70.88 sq cm area x 9.5 cm (stroke) = 673 cubic cm swept volume per cylinder
    673 ccm x 4 cyl = 2692 ccm = 2.69L displacement
