When I turn the key to the on position without starting the engine, I noticed that the main required light blinks six times then goes off. I also noticed the my oil light , battery light and check engine light stay lit until I start the truck then everything turns off. Is this normal and what could be the reason. I have searched google for the answer but to no avail.

That light blinking is to.remind you its getting time to change your engine oil via your mileage you have travelled. In 1000 more miles it will come on and stay on. Check your manual for more info and how to reset it.

when it comes on you've hit 5000 miles since it was last cleared and you just hold down the odo button with the key off then turn the key on while still holding it down and wait for it to stop flashing
