Exhaust help for my 2.7!!!!

Hey new to these forums and wanted some guidance for an exhaust system on my 95 Taco SX!

Open to the idea of a whole kit or just replacing cat and mufflers.
Also would like to toss on a solid set of bolt on headers with the new exhaust kit, so any suggestions on what and where to buy would be great!

Looking for some performance gains and a solid sound but fuel economy is my primary goal here!

If you search around alot of people have used different exhausts for the 2.7 , check out urdusa.com they have a set of DT headers and jardine exhaust, personally im saving up for LC engineerings set of headers and there pro flow exhaust. I dont know if anyone has them but they have been specializing in 4 bangers for a long time, i just ordered there short throw shifter, but anyways. Those are two i sites i know that offer a set. Try magnaflow too, they have a 4 banger exhaust set.

People have posted clips up here too, just gotta search around. The sound too is personal preference, people like different mufflers for diff sounds.

Our trucks come from the factory with a header. You can save yourself some money by not replacing it with another one.

I missed that. I'm not sure if it is or not. I'd still check before simply yanking perfectly good parts off to replace with new ones.

I think the 2001-2004 ones are the ones that come with a "mini-header".

Older ones still have crappy cast-iron manifolds.

I put on a set of doug thorley tri-y ceramics from TRDParts4U. Noticed some more top end power, but gas mileage stayed the same.

I would recommend it to anybody with a cracked manifold, but honestly isn't really worth the money and troubles otherwise.

Look at LCEngineering, Doug Thorley, and NWOR, but stay away from Pacesetter.

 

Thank you for the advice people and to answer questions yes I have the 3RZ-FE so it is a cast-iron manifold!

As of right now after looking at the suggestions I really like what LCEngineering has to offer!
