Take care of your cooling systems and don't overheat the engine.

Playing around in Alldata Saturday night at work.

Head gasket replacement on the 2.7 = 19.4 Labor Hours.

For an $86.86 part.

 

Dam what did you do To make it over heat

 

Oh..no no no. Truck is just fine.

Just looking at the diagrams of the 2.7 and got wondering how much crap was involved in a HG job on it.

 

the OP made it sound like you blew your head gasket...

 

I was like Dam I thought he did but yeah shops charge you an arm and a leg todo anything now a days

 

anywhere form 85-120 and hour for labor.

 

Didn't mean to. Guess it does seem a little like that re-reading it.

 

Check the hours to replace the entire engine assembly, I bet it's less.

 

But costs more for the part, Thats if toyota will even sell you a brand new complete engine.
I use to be a service manager and Honda would only sell parts to the engine you couldn't buy a whole engine. Piece by piece it was about 7 grand for a complete engine.
