Looking for some advice and experience on removing an oil pan (replacing gasket) on a 98 2wd 2.7L PreRunner. It seems there are 2 bolts that are not accessible without making some space between the block and the transmission. The FSM isn't exactly clear about that steps involved.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Solved! I needed to look a little better in the manual and under the truck. There is a dust plate on the back/bottom of the transmission that comes off with just 4 bolts (2 have nuts). I had always thought that plate was larger and went higher than it did. It stops right at as the block mates to the transmission. Once off, you can see the drive plate and torque converter . . . and reach those two additional bolts.
