wouldnt worry about power loss or back preassure because of the y pipe near the end of pipes

I was speaking to my local mechanic and he'd prefer the AT because the AT is a straight through design, unlike the flowmaster.

Granted, I've heard both sound good, but I'm more inclined to believe Aero Turbine's claims on "HP Gains" than I would with the flowmaster.

If anyone has proof otherwise, please share!

And as far as duals like that, i don't know if it change the exhaust note. If it's done good, the truck can come out looking really swell. I think the stock piping is loud enough for me.

It's so cool how sometimes around the city, the rumble from my exhaust kind of "joins" with the bass coming out my speakers.

My AT has set of an Infinity's alarm before driving by, And parking garages, it's usually bound to set off an alarm. If my friends can hear me coming down the street from inside their house that's pretty loud. At least my truck sounds good. i hear trucks all the time at school that are loud as fu*k but they sound like complete crap.

Actually, now that i think about it, if you have duals, it might be louder, you have sound (air) coming out of both sides of the truck, compared to the stock, of course its louder on the right side than it is on the left.

Something else to think about, keep the side exit to reduce cabin drone. Once I chopped mine the drone increased but its still hardly noticeable. Sounds a little better at idle with the side exit as well!

    Very good advice.

I chopped the exhaust on my 3rd gen 4Runner and it was awful - went to Seeburg the next day and had it redone.

i understand that the AT Dual would be nice sounding and loud but i was hoping to not wake up the neighbors? but still achieve the nice sound. nice start/idle/WOT without the "god damn it this guy again"

Are you talking about having a true dual muffler setup, or just dual pipes?

Since you live in texas I would just go with a straight pipe.

Without a muffler most inspection places won't go for that.

Has anyone cut the cats off and done a Y-pipe then straight back? Or maybe just cut the cats and left the muffler on?

DO NOT straight pipe. Not only will you not pass for state inspection (as said), it doesn't sound good at all.

A glasspack on a V8...now that has the potential to sound good,

    I wouldn't mess with duals.

Get yourself a Magnaflow muffler and call it good.

I just put a 14" magnaflow on mine and dumped it by the axle. I love it! I don't mind the mild drone.

i keep hearing about the ridiculous drone in those because thats what i was going to go with until i read up on other peoples exhaust.

that AT sounds beast and i know most people think that duals would be ridiculous on a taco but i like duals as well as the single.
