Thinking about pulling the trigger on new 2012 but need some advice.

Thinking about pulling the trigger in the morning on a 2012 DC 4x4 TRD Sport w/o upgrade. Includes Step tubes, towing pkg. They are at $30,649 not including tax/tags. I will be trading my 2008 Tundra DC 4x4 SR5 in with 28,000 miles for $21,500. Does this sound like an OK deal? They are giving me 2.9% financing for 36 months. Thank you in advance for the advice.

Hmm, I got 2.9% for 72 months so that seems a tad high for 36 months.

 

The BIGGEST mistake is buying Brand New Car. Do u guys know about that? I would say NO. but it's up to u.

 

Thank you for the replies. 36 months is what I am asking for. No offense but I don't want to pay 6 years of interest. I haven't found interest rates any lower for 2012's. As far as not buying new I have done pretty good with Toyota's holding their resale value. I bought my Tundra 4 years ago for $26,100 and trading in at $21,500. That is cheaper than leasing it and I end up with great equity. So for my new truck I end up financing $10,149 over 3 years at $294 a month and end up with a truck still worth $26,000. Sounds like a Win Win situation for myself. I just want to make sure I'm not paying too much over invoice so I will end up with the best deal.

 

That sounds about right for a 2012. Not a fantastic deal, but I don't think you're being bent over.

Price is to high, go somewhere else or look for a 2011

 

Just make sure you get what you want or you will not be satisfied.

 

Not sure if your a member of USAA, but I am taking advantage of a current offer for a 2012 Taco with 36 month financing for 1.79%. As far as the quoted price goes, thats not too bad, not that great either but somewhere in the middle. LB or SB usually changes about $500. I would check with USAA pricing or overstock.com pricing before the purchase. Those prices are usually non negtible and they will probably take you up on it because they know someone will sell for that price. Good luck and I want to see pics.

 

Get TRD OR with ATRAC and rear locker Should be the same price as sport. You can always paint rear bumper and grille to match body color for few hundred...

 

I take it back, if it's a longbed the overstock price is $30,921, and the short bed is $30,447. Go for it, sounds like you are right in the ball park. Bu if I was going for a short bed I would still try to get the $202 difference somehow. Either in warranty, floor mats, bed mat, something. They probably arent going to lose the deal for a $200 accesory.

 

That's a good deal. Go for it! The 2012 interior is way nicer than the 2011. Even the base radio has awesome features. I got 1.9% from Toyota, so you may be able to negotiate that also.

Now I have to decide between Silver or Mag Grey. They have 2 identical ones to choose from. I'll post pics if they don't try to bend me over in the end. One last question. Did you all get 2 years free Toyota care??

 

Yes, I did. Not real happy that they want me to wait till 5,000 mile for my first oil change.

 

Silver is probably the most common that I see and Mag grey is getting there. They both look amazing and from what I hear the silver shows scratches less. I was tossed up between Nautical blue and Mag grey so between your two choices I would choose the grey, but it's your choice buddy. I do believe the two years of Toyota care is standard on all Toyota vehicles now.

 

Have you done thorough research to back up your claim? Or are you just spouting outdated advice that has no bearing on current economic market trends or Tacoma specific depreciation values? No really, I'm curious.

In my opinion, Mag grey is one of the best looking colors the Tacoma comes in. BUT it shows dust/dirt/minor scratches really well, so it takes more effort to keep it looking great. Silver is pretty 'meh' IMO, but it is the easiest to keep looking good. And even Silver 2012's look sweet!

 

I got the magnetic grey also, and the Toyota care. Although now I am realizing that I don't remember signing anything for it.

 

toyota care is offered free up to 25k. You can choose to extended it you want and your dollar. I think it started with the 2011 models. I got it with my Tundra.

I used truecar, edmunds, and usaa buying for my research before buying my last truck. Looks like there will soon be a new tacoma owner in the house.

 

from a distance, mag grey looks awesome, but 3 years later as you get close to the truck you can see a lot of imperfections, scratched etc. And I have been seriously anal and religious about keeping it looking nice....great color though.

 

Just keep grinding them, I was able to get three grand off my 2009 when I bought at the end of 2008. I bought mine at the end of December 29th or 30th, they were ready to make deals. The picking were a little slim, I had to settle on my 2nd color choice, first choice was white.
