Hi all.... I bought my first Tacoma recently and had the " Northwest Protection Package" applied to the exterior of the truck. I was wondering if there is a good wax to use that won't affect the NWPP? I am looking for a wax product that protects but won't affect the application.

    Thanks All,
    Red Dream

I always liked Meguiars. Used to use Gold class.Their new product NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 is great. Goes on real easy and comes off even easier. It leaves the surface slippery. Haven't tried their Ultimate.

Thanks 4wheeling.....I'll give that wax a try. I just don't want to damage the protective finish that was put on. Thanks again .

What is the "northwest protection package"? I am guessing some sort of simonize type product applied at the dealership??

As far as wax goes... I used to really like NXT 2.0 until the Meguiars Ultimate came along. I think it is a much better wax. It seems to give a better shine and it lasts way longer than the NXT.

    Welcome to TW.

Paint coatings usually eliminate the necessity to wax. If you're still looking for an otc product though, meguiars professional line is very nice and user friendly too.

    Please define best.

Adam's Americana wax, the absolute best. Every one of his products are simply amazing!

    http://www.adamspolishes.com/

But on the flip side, everything is VERY pricey. I personally don't use it, I've just seen it used. I use Meguire's products, great stuff at a great price. I recommend their new Ultimate products as well.

If you want maximum protection you would want to apply a sealant (synthetic version of wax) which lasts much longer than wax.

You can also apply wax over the sealant for a better look and more protection.

For a sealant Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant is great. By far the toughest and longest lasting wax is Collinate 845 Wax and great price.

Everyone has their own preffered wax, so you really cannot get a definative answer, just experiment and use what you like best. I like Nu finish.

Nu Finish is an All In One product.

It will polish and seal the vehicle and is not a wax. That is why it lasts so long.

I agree...Don't debate politics or favorite waxes.

There are so many options for what you are looking for.

For guys with black cars you can give that Black Box a try. I know everyone N their mom hates Turtle wax but I tried this as a quick temporary fix to hide my swirl marks and it came out great. I am going to have it polished n waxed next.

check a local dealership and ask where they by their detail supplies. The auto parts store is too expensive for the amount you get. Google Auto Magic. I think you will like what you see.
