I met this girl this past weekend and I found out she has mostly the same interests as me. Get this, she drives an 09 doublecab 4x4. Badass right? But we got to talking around the fire and she said she has always wanted to go rabbit hunting at night. This is on private land so no worries. We got in her truck and got to riding around the land and we saw a few rabbits but there wasnt enough light produced to get the range we needed. Im wanting to do the mesh grill and lights behind the grill. Where can I get the material for the grill? Arts and crafts stores, lowes, home depot? Also, how did yall wire your lights in to do so. I wanna go for a clean look rather than a half ass look. Thanks for any feedback!

yeah i know it is the lighting section but the title leans more towards the hunting section lol but do what everyone else has said. mount some hella's behind there with a light bar and do a HID conversion. here is a good link for that: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/li...nversion-mount-behind-satoshi-how-w-pics.html

Save the money, buy a portable battery-operated spotlight/floodlight from Cabela's or something to throw light downrange. Lay out some blankets in the back of your truck. You're not going to be using the light for more than 30 minutes anyway.

In case the top part wasn't clear, let me translate:

"I wan't to go rabbit hunting at night" = "I want to fuck."

Hahahaha guess its time I throw my air mattress in the bed?

I've got a light that hooks into the cig lighter. We are just gonna shine down the trails and see if we can't find a rabbit or a bobcat. Always wanted to shoot one haha

I third the portable light. What if the rabbit isn't in front of the truck?

Costco sells that monster mega spot light that I believe is HID, so you could check that out too. It's massive, and probably very bright.

You can also get rifle/scope-mounted lights for night varmint hunting.

Any of those would be a lot cheaper, easier, and more effective for your plans. But, if you just want to go with the grille lights, go for it!
