Good after market floor jack (emergency tire changes)

While putting the lift on my truck we realized my truck didn't come with the oem jack for changing out flats on the side of the road.

So I'm looking for an after market jack that will work with a 3" lift.

As of right now I don't have sliders so I won't be getting a hi-lift jack.

i went to lowes and picked up a 5 ton (i think it was the 5 ton) bottle jack for 25 bucks made by kobalt...i must say that thing is the shiz. i have a 3 inch lift and it works GREAT

yeah kobalt the blue boxes. The little top unscrews to get more lift height too.

 

we run the harbor freight aluminum floor jacks in the beds of our race trucks and daily driver chase trucks...

they are a lot easier to pull out of the bed as they aren't as heavy and cumbersome as the bigger shop style floor jacks...

for the back, we lift from under the differential... for the front, we either put a big block of wood to lift from the crossmember, or for simple tire changes, under the lower control arm...

It didn't come with a jack or it doesn't work for your needs. I'm pretty sure it is illegal to not have one when sold (unless private party).

 

This is awesome....what weight capacity is recommended for our trucks? I have a double cab long bed!!

 

The bottle jack that comes with our trucks stock don't extend far enough to raise the front of the truck up. You should still be able to jack up the rear from stock bottle jack when jacking at the axle housing but I haven't tried myself and only being able to jack up the back half of the truck doesn't really cut it.

 

3,000 lb should suffice... you typically are not lifting the whole truck on one jack...

Another question guys... Is there an aftermarket bar to lower the spare tire?

i don't know of any aftermarket bar...

if you can find one at a junkyard, that may be your best bet...

 

Now that is a pretty cool idea for your jack!
