Let me chime in, as I have 35s on a 3" lift.

I would stick with 33s unless you're absolutely fixed on getting 35s under her.

It's very expensive and it's a PITA to get them to stuff.

Me & Max both have re-made flares similar to north's.

It's not an easy thing. Hardest/most expensive is getting ur flares made (strong & will line up nicely). Then cutting your truck, pounding away at the firewall, and cutting the body mount & even then you'll have some run

Cutting doesnt bother me, it's just the amount of hours I would have to put in for a 2" dia. bigger tire. Just trying to decide if it's worth the effort.

Also trying to figure out where I can work on my truck and make all that noise, seeing as I live next door to the apt manager. Might have to ask one of my relatives that live out in the country.

Making the flares would seem to be the most time consuming part but would also make the least amount of noise.

I'm going to pull one of the flares off this Sunday and see what's up.

I'm actually thinking of doing this even if I stay with 33's.

It isn't as easy as you think to modify the flares. I paid close to 700 to have mine done. It wasn't worth the time or effort to try and buy the tools to do myself. Unless you're a body shop guy already.

Eric (relentlesstaco) and Anton (all.on.black?) were the first to modify the flares.

    n0rth I think was 3rd, then Max (theduck911) and I. (we're both Max, with similar trucks :D)

Course n0rth has to fuck with me and run 36s. :( I NEED MOAR TIRE (jk)

It's very expensive to run 35s. From tires to wheels to gears to fenders to tools to clips.

    Here is more...

fwiw... your still gonna have to pound the shit out of your firewall, and cut everything to fully clear 33's

It's expensive either way you do it. I've done body work, with plastics and such as well and cutting up the fenders so that they can be pieced back together and have the holes line up in fender-well and with the little clips is extremely difficult (not saying you don't have the skill to do it, just my experience) In the end it worked out to be cheaper to have someone else do them for me. Also, you're going to want to use a super high quality and high strength resin/polymer as if you brush up against a tree branch or something you don't want your flares breaking/cracking.

The easiest part of the whole fitting business is the actual install:cool:

The 3M shit the guy used on mine cost like 150 a tube IIRC. Less the special pneumatic gun that you pretty much have to have. He used several tubes.

Screw that. made up my mind, sticking with 33's. Still might regear end of next year anyway.

I found these pics of a member that has the (no longer made) 33x11.5x16 Mud Grapplers. Now the 33's they make for 16" wheels are 305/70/16's.

The 305's I'm going with are the same diameter as the pics, just a bit wider.

edit: I dont think this guy has any lift in the back at all.

33" mud Grapplers are ordered. With a little luck I will have traction bars installed in a few days.
