How do I remove the "upper part" of the dash [by "upper part" I mean the part the sun hits] ? Searched this forum and the internet without any luck. I can't find it on either.
    thanks[IMG]

The upper dash is the whole dash. Everything has to come out to take it out.

The dash has some 10mm bolts that hold it in. I cant remember it all but they were all easy to find. There are some clips that hold it to the fire wall, but you should just be able to pull on it to get those to come loose. i also had to remove the airbag from the passenger side before I could get it out. I suggest you disconnecting the battery way before you fool with the airbag. I just kept on tugging on it and where ever it wouldnt pull loose, I knew that I had missed something and would look for another bolt that was holding it. kept doing this until I finally got it out. I had no instructions just the need to take it out.

Oh and you also will have to remove the console. There are bolts under the carpet piece inside of the console. The carpet piece is glued to a hard plastic part. You will have to pull or pry it up to get it out of the glove box.

i cant remember if i had to drop the steering assembly at all , but maybe some pics would help . like others have said , systematicaly go through the whole dash removing all the 10mm head bolts , every piecs on or around has to be taken off, remove the bolts that hold the passenger airbag to the inner frame. then yiu have to pop the clips out of the firewall by just pulling back on the dash from one end , then the other and it pops right out

Is there much room behind the dash for some largish car audio amplifiers?
