1gr-fe blown head gasket?????

So i go to do an oil change on my truck (20,000mi) and I find this.



Foamy gunk under the oil cap. The oil itself looked fine and their doesn't seem to be excessive white smoke from the exhaust also no noticable power loss.

 

just moisture in the engine. common thing

nothing to worry about....its just the condensation collecting on the cap. heat causing condensation/water in the oil and of course they don't mix and that is what it forms. heat rises so the highest point is usually the oil filler cap. that is why it collects there and forms the yellow goop. i think its called emulcification. you think that is bad you should check out the early 2000 dodge durango/dakota with the 4.7l v8. you will usually notice it more in colder weather.

 

Weird. The truck does 200+ miles a day five days a week.

 

Take the fill tube off the engine cover and clean it real good. I did and havent had any of that build up in 10k!

i doubt that'll make a difference (changing the oil sooner) unless the OP's runnin his oil for 15k intervals, this last oil change i did was a little over due for me right around 5800mi (castrol edge) and i didn't have anything like this under my cap, i did however have the film just like in the OP's picture when i lived in town and did alot of short drives

 

The oil has been changed like clock work every 5000 miles mobile 1 5w30 conventional.

 

It's just from short trips... had a scare myself last winter but everything is fine.

 

Looks like it'd be delicious on a venti double caramel lattè.
