I'm going to pick up a Leer Canopy on Friday. Just wondering what tools I will need to install it. Will be far from home so need to be prepared. My truck is a 2007 dclb.
    Cheers

Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
They are usually just clamped to the bed rails so basic hand tools like a socket set should do it.

Make sure that the seller has the all Leer to Tacoma C-channel clips
Ask him if the seal is still good.

There's 2 parts to the install, physically setting the shell on the bed and clamping it down and the wiring. As long as the hardware is all there, the first part is a breeze. Unless you plan on bringing a soldering iron, heat gun and all the wiring accessories required, you'll have to drive back without the 3rd brake light operational.

Mine is installed with bolts into threaded aluminum blocks in the bedrails

    Those are the "C-channel clips"
Snug uses a similar system that attaches via the bedrail (c-channel)

    Very sanitary.

I am buying the canopy second hand. The brake light will have to wait until i get home but for the C clamps all i should need is a socket set? Could anyone tell me what size of sockets the clamps are?

Don't confuse the hold down hardware with C-clamps. Those are something else.
It's a hardware package that works with your bedrail which is a sort of C-channel. The hold down bolts attach the canopy to the truck via the bedrail.

I think my Snug uses a 1/2" socket.....just bring your 3/8" drive socket set and some open end wrenches as well.
Don't confuse "drive" with "socket" ;)

I would be talking to the seller about socket size etc because you want to verify that he has all this hardware and that the gasket is in good shape.
If the gasket's toast it will leak and you will have to re-do.

Thanks Guys. Yes I will give the guy a call and ask about the seal. Will be bringing my socket and wrench sets. Pic is great, I see exactly how It could bolt down.

This is probably a dumb question but what keeps the canopy from just sliding right off the rail system? it looks like from what OZ-T posted it has the potential to slide off.
