    I bought my truck used about 6 months ago and I was wondering if it was a TRD? Its a 1999 toyota tacoma prerunner with no TRD stickers, the original owner says that it never came with any. But it did come with bilstien shocks and a rear differential lock which I thought only came on the TRD edition...?

    Ha no they are real and all work. I think the TRD stickers look sick I and I want to put some on but I just didnt want to put them on if my truck really wasnt a TRD.

    It has the 15" alloy rims, 3.4l V6 with an automatic tans. It is an extra cab.

    This makes me wonder is mine is TRD. It has the Bilstein shocks. And the locking Rear differential. It does not have any TRD stickers nor does it say TRD anywhere.:confused: It is a 1999 Tacoma Prerunner Xtra cab. It only has 70k on it too.

    This is legitimate use of the search function and revival of an older thread that seems to fit the situation perfectly.

    Prior to the '98 model year, it was possible to order a truck with an e-locker and it not be a "TRD" model. Having said that, the heart of the TRD package is the locker. My guess is that your truck came from the factory as a TRD. Most likely, someone removed the stickers along the way.
