I have a brand new set of factory gray 'Tacoma' embroiderd floor mats out of my 2009 Reg cab tacoma up for grabs. I took them out the day I bought it and swapped them for TRD mats because I like black better.

I need ideas on what to get my parents for Christmas. They are kinda old (70 and 67) and hard if not fuggin impossible to buy for as they seem to have everything and never give me any ideas on what they need or want and it gets harder to buy for them each year. I thought about wrapping up a bunch of empty boxes and putting post it's inside that say "you suck here's what you asked for!" They have a good sense of humor but that might be pushing it a smidge.

List 5 gift ideas for a Dad, 5 gift ideas for a Mom and 5 combination gifts. Gift cards and gift certificates/cash and the like don't count because I hate giving those as presents. They don't do much of anything but are really good about staying in the house A LOT.

Whoever gives me the best ideas gets my floor mats. You will have to come to Santa Rosa to pick them up.

All suggestions and smart ass comments are always welcome but may lesson your chance at winning.

Only looking to spend about $250 in total.

I'll put pics of the mats up in a bit.

No need for the floor mats but I can give some ideas.

Last year I bought my dad a very nice pool stick ~$100

This year I bought him a marble 16" chess set
    KGrHqNlUE65D1KGt8BOBROW60_3_40cb51af7e3d67adcb889309c77f974d329f86f3.jpg

One year I got him a bathroom joke book. It had a leather hard cover and looked pretty elegant. So while they are on the shitter they can have a laugh.

Also got him a nice poker set with a pretty nice wooden box. And came with chips and cards.

Maybe lettin us know what they are into (hobbies, pass times etc.) we can help more.

My Dad does have a pool table he uses. I bought him a cue stick like 20 years ago. He doesn't even use that cue or another one somebody else bought him but he uses one of the shitty cues that came as the main set of cues when they bought the table in the late 1970's. My Mom is into doing arts and crafts stuff and my dad watches way too much TV.

She has all the crap she needs to do her stuff and he has a universal remote already LOL!!!!!

At their age they don't need a joke book for the bathroom, as I think they get the giggles whenever they are able to take a dump without straining, I know I do.

They bought themselves a Wii last year and they don't use it much. I knew they wouldn't, as they have to move their bodies! They have an old Nintendo they play card games on.

My Dad is the only guy in the world who does NOT want more tools.

Would be funny as hell to get them the dueling giant cocks as a gag gift.

I saw lots of stuff i would be interested in but not so much for them. Going to start saving my pennies for the Tron bike.

Don't want/need the floor mats either. But compliments of my wife: A night in a hotel with a nice dinner.

Do they support a charity? You could make a charitable donation in their name. Guide Dogs for the Blind is up your way.

Dinner for two someplace nice to eat (winery). Jack Stack BBQ delivers stuff--and it tastes pretty good too.

They're too old to run from Zombies. They are more of the bug in variety, even when the situation would call for buggin' out.

Zombies are gonna feast on them.

it woulsn't be for bugging out. it would be just for everyday use, or to leave in a car with supplies in it. something my dad could bring everywhere, toss round, and not worry about durability.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
My experience with that generation is that the only thing they want is company (whether they tell you or not). My grandparents are in that age range and there's nothing they like more than when I stop in just to sit down and drink a cup of coffee with them, discuss local news, or just listen to them them talk.

My suggestion: Just spend a day with them doing what they do; watch tv with your Dad, make crafts with your Mom. Maybe take them to dinner or cook them dinner or order in.

You could do something like this too. I know it sounds kind of boring and lame to some, but I know I always get a kick out of doing little things like that for my grandparents.

My family is big Wake fans so I am sending my parents to the Music CIty Bowl game in Nashville, TN. All expenses paid except food and they are staying at the Gaylord Opry Land Resort. I figured that since I have a good job now I should go all out since they always have for me.
