Anybody in Socal effectively tuned a URD MAF Calibrator? I'll be wiring mine into the ECU this week

TRD CAI, Magnaflow exhaust & Intake manifold spacer soon

I'm aware. I actually have a friend who does this stuff for a living, but he's far and there's always something up on his dyno.

I thought maybe I could get someone on TW to give me a hand for a night of drinking or sumthin

even if gadget "tunes" it for your mods, it can be tweaked a little more to optimize the trucks individual performance

Right. My goal with the N/A bolt-on's is to broaden the powerband enough to bring my stock gearing/revs into a useable range once again.

I've not been happy with the MPG's and loss of power after going 33's. Re-gearing will bring me back into the sweet spot, but also raise average rpm's. I hope to get back into a nice curve with a nice increase in MPG's.

It's actually very achievable, hard part is staying off the gas. I can already feel some good mid-range to top-end gains with the CAI and exhaust alone.

The manifold spacer will broaden out the torque curve with some low-end gains. That is the most important piece to this process. I think I'll be able to squeeze out another 10-15 HP with a good MAF tune

I think he said NA. Supercharger would be nice but then you really should only use 91 octane. I like being flexible and buying the fuel I feel I can afford right now.

If the programming on the disk that comes with the maf like the old code 59 stuff. It might not be that hard. One of these day I will hook my lap top to mine and see what I can f up.

I'd rather go LT with that kinda cash.

The way I see it, I'll get 1/2 the HP of a TRD blower at 1/5 of the cost and still have the option of going S/C on top of everything.

Of course by 1/2 the HP, I mean peak upper mid-range HP. It will in no way feel like half of a TRD blower.

Did you buy it used, or new. If you bought it new then you shoulda had him pre-program it for your add ons. If not its not that hard, turn on your lap yop and insert the disk and follow the instruction on the screen. It takes you through the steps as to what add ons you have installed on the vehicle and how to map them to the MAF Calibrator. Before plugging it into your truck just play with it on the computer first then go forward with the process of adding your componets to the MAF Calibrator.

I got it used. I've used Dynojet software before, I'm sure it's not that different. My laptop was fucked so I tossed it.

    Anyway...

It sure does, but what you've stated is merely your opinion. I guess you're just going about in your usual manner. I wouldn't go as far as to call it anything accurate.

Also, apples to oranges... We're talking about bolt-on's here. Bolt-on blower, bolt-on LT, bolt-on power mods.

It might make more sense to compare costs with your "real LT" if we were discussing a full on race motor build, but we're not.

Might be a dumb question. The box can be hooked up when you do your adjustments?

If what you're asking is whether the MAF Calibrator can remain connected to the truck's ECU while you tune it, then yes. There is a serial port soldered into the board which you can access by taking off the top plate.

You plug your laptop into the serial port of the MAF Calibrator and make adjustments to the air/fuel map.

I figured you could do your adjustments with the box plugged in.
