Where can you buy the bars that go across the factory roof rack? Would like to be able to carry a canoe on the rack this coming summer.

Maybe I am VERY confused about how these roof racks work. Can you remove part of it and set it up so you have a bar going across it?

Take a good look at the rack, each lateral bar is connected to one side rail on a pivot, the other end of the lateral has a latch that locks it into the opposite side rail when positioned accross the roof. When you no longer need the laterals, they unlatch and swing back across the roof and latch back into thier side rail.

I added this as an aftermarket option only because you can detach and swing the laterals out of the way and make it easy for snow removal.

    Hope this helps.
