Just bought and 05 Tacoma dbl cab 4x4 lb. realized that I didn't have front parking lights. Today I stopped at Toyota to check it out so I could just buy bulbs if I needed them. Found out that both corner light bulbs were burned out. Replaced those and I now have parking lights up front but when I was fiddling with everything I was checking the blinker light bulbs in the middle on either side of the grill. Are these suppose to come on also as parking lights? I looked at the bulbs and they are dual element bulbs but only the first element lights up. Want my truck to be doing the right thing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Ken

They don't come on for parking, just turn signals and also used for daytime running lamps.

Why do they have dual elements in the bulbs themselves?

One element is for the blinkers and the other is for the Daytime running lights.;)

I don't believe the 05 at least has drl? Without the lights on nothing is on?

I believe the daytime running lights were a dealer option, not all have them enabled.

x2. There's a DIY Mod if you want them, but then you'd have to deal with the melting lenses.

An the drl's would just mean the center amber blinker lights would come on?

Are they easy to enable? And it sound like they cause issues?

Been wondering the same thing. I like the look, plus makes the truck more visible with a blinker option.

Just a recent poll on the melting lenses. Brian never did get back on his original thoughts (other than to replace the bulbs to prevent melting):
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...se-who-have-dtrl-its-melting-your-lights.html

And there are several more on other forums. Granted, we're talking small numbers, but not something I'd want to do just because no one's come up with a reason why some are melting. I'd be one of those "lucky" ones if I had DRL. Just do a search on melting lens and you'll find a bunch of threads.
