I'm not saying duratracs are better than snow tires, I'm saying that I think they would be better than basically any other less aggressive all terrain or highway terrain tire. I'm saying that duratracs have more in common with dedicated snow tires than other mild AT and HT tires.

Every single duratrac review that I've seen that mentions snow says they kick ass.

Put a set of 4 studded Hankooks on my 2012 the day after picking it up. Tires are absolutely amazing on ice, packed or loose snow. Best $600 I ever spent on tires.

Truck actually surprised me how well it drove in the snow with the stock tires (Sport TRD) but the stopping was really bad as it would slide rather easily.

Nothing beat studs, and I mean nothing when it comes to packed snow or ice. People who claim they don't need studs on icey roads are usually people who never drove with 4 of them on their vehicle.

hankood dynapro something or other are supposed to be very good in the snow, bfg allterain ta/ko great all around tire and do quite well in the snow.

if you want extreme winter traction though, goodyear duratracs get them studded and turn your truck into a mountain goat.

green diamond tires they are supposed to be one of the best tires money can buy for snow. forget the lack of siping they have silica shards consistently distributed through out the entire tread all the way down to the belts! even though they are not very popular every review i have read of them has been stellar so they come highly recommended.

Lots of great info here guys! I think I'm pretty set on Duratracks, just been waiting since the snow has been minimal this year. Which isn't a bad thing.;)

Sweet, you have some snow! Those tires look like they can tear it up! We've only had like two inches of snow here all winter so far.
