I've wanted as most probably do to do something totally unique with my truck. So I doubt anyone has done this and not sure I can find a cheap set but was thinking I like the factory wheels that are on a 2003 ish Pathfinder. I think they may look good on a Taco. Tell me what you think. I would like to try this but only if I can find a set cheap. Online they cost as much as an aftermarket set which kills part of my idea. I want to do this as a cheaper option. The wheels as far as I know are the same lug pattern. They are 17x8. Is there any reason this wouldn't work? I don't know the back spacing on them. How do you think it would look? Also considering painting them black if I can find a set. Maybe the photo shop guys can give me an idea on how it would look? Not sure about what to do for the center cap though?

I've been thinking this for a while, I drove by a stretch of town today that has many different tire shops that have many used wheels sitting outside, didn't see anything interesting or any of these. Stopped in a couple and both scarfed when they saw what I was driving, saying no they didn't have anything that would fit my truck as if it was rare. I though the lug pattern was very popular?

There's a Tacoma I see daily that has wheels that look identical to that and I couldn't figure out what they came from. I wonder if that guy put Pathfinder wheels on his. As far as looks, they look great!

Any ideas on how to find a cheap set? All I know to do is CL, Ebay and looking at the tire shops like today, they had several factory wheels, just not these, so maybe just a matter of time but don't know what they would get for them. Thing is I know that somewhere somebody has a set lying around that would give them up for cheap, just a matter of finding them. Cheapest I found online was like $110 each plus shipping. If I'm gonna pay that might as well go aftermarket.

From the photo shop request thread, thanks to Jholder70.

Not totally sold on this, but I'm sure it would impress me more in reality. What do ya'll think?

Well I'd still have to find a set at a reasonable price. While searching I ran across a deal on some Moto Metal 951 16x8. Not sure if I like them or not. From looking at pics on the forum I like them on a lifted truck, just not sure at stock height. It may sound funny but that is my conclusion on them. I could get a set for about $350 brand new. Also not sure about the 16's.

i would start with a salvage yard, find a totaled pathfinder and see how much they want for the wheels. depending on the yard, you could probably find a set for cheap.

my next step would be a pathfinder online forum and start putting out feelers. people always want to get RID of their stock wheels and tires, you could probably score a set cheap that way too. in fact i would be shocked if you couldn't.

third, have you actually priced a new set at a dealer? they might be ridiculously expensive, but then again, they might not...it's worth a phone call to find out.

personally i don't think they are anything special. they look like a stock wheel. but then again, it doesn't matter what i think so i say go for it!

    good luck.

Well never mind on being original. I went ahead and bought some wheels. Had a deal I couldn't pass up. Found a "pair" on CL just up the road from me. 2 Moto Metal 951 16x8 for $100 brand new. Bought them today and just ordered the other 2 from Amazon for $114.20 each with free shipping. So I have a total of $328.40 in a set all brand new. Cant beat that. I'm stoked.
