Am fairly new to TW forum but have been lurking as I want to purchase 2012 Prerunner and use forum for info, etc. I am original owner of 2002 Tacoma PreRunner Double Cab 4x2 V6 with very low mileage of 26,652. Truck has TRD OffRoad Package, SR5 Package, Convenience Package, etc with spray in bedliner and shell. I have dealer looking for new truck but am having hard time with pricing my 02, have looked at KBB as well as nada guidelines. Truck is in excellent condtion with clean history, well maintained, garaged and I wax 1-2 x year with Klasse. I live in NorCal 100 miles north of Sacramento and it's hard to find good comps. Am thinking of listing here and on craigslist locally and in Norcal region at a low of $16000 and high of $17500. Any thoughts on my pricing appreciated as I keep reading/hearing of how well values hold. Thank you, mcdee[IMG]

Don't be offended by this Northeaster's opinion. Your truck didn't cost much more than $19000.00 new, did it? Even with the extremely low mileage, the truck's value has surely depreciated more than 2 or 3 thousand dollars over the course of ten years. Your asking price is probably more than twice what the truck would bring in the Northeast, but you probably don't have any rust on the truck as would be expected here. Maybe West Coast prices are much different or that particular model is in high demand. :notsure: In any case, good luck with your sale. It's a good looking truck.

I'd imagine you could probably get about 13 to 14k for that truck. :)

Great looking truck. I have seen trucks like yours listed around 14-15K with 4 times the mileage yours has. I think you should have no problem getting what you want out of it. Good luck!

I don't think you'll have any problem at all getting that. Especially after that yahoo story the other day about the 10 cars that hold their value the best. I paid 15K for mine with 80k on it.

Beautiful specimen you have there. I'd start it at 17k and bet it will sell for no less than $15.5

10 years old..2600 miles a year average...you have an excellent investment there. Although it is a 2wd...its a trd and prerunner...well optioned vehicle and kept properly cosmetically and aesthetically.Keep strong on your price, you can justify that amount since there are no strings attached as there would be off a dealership lot. GLWS I believe strongly in around-17-18,500$ for this truck.

this is just me know,,ok.... but it's going to be hard to find a bank that is going to loan that kinda money on a truck that old,,, without someone comming out of pocket to help make up the difference,,there just not going to do it on a truck that old..

    For comparison,

I bought my '04 Double Cab 4x4 with 40k miles w/ Leer Shell from a SoCal New Car Dealer 2 years ago for $17,800. I thought that was a good deal.

That's a nice truck but I wouldn't pay that much for a Prerunner. But the low miles is nice.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
I think his price it a bit high, and that ^^ goes only goes so far, supply and demand has to do with it too, high supply low demand, low price

high demand low supply, high price, depends what its like where he lives

I bought my '02 XCab 4X4 SR5 TRD with 24,500 miles. It had a factory bed liner, Truxedo vinyl tonneau, always garaged, all maintenance done and recorded and even had a new timing belt (water pump leak detected during a routine maintenance and they replaced since they were in there). It has a couple of parking lot dings but clean otherwise.

I paid $16K and there were two other buyers lined up if I turned it down. This was in Denver. I'd say you're completely in line with your price if you can get the word out. Good Luck.

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
Funny thing is the same truck with 125K would go for like 12000, they dont lose much value.

Sorry to all replies, I thought I posted when I sold truck, obviously I didn't! Sold truck locally to good guy for $15,000- He didn't ask but I cut price if he would buy new tires as they were originals and I was worried as he would be driving a lot with wife, kids, etc. Apologize again but I did post when I sold but I didn't check to make sure it happened.
