Decided I better get my build thread going! Things are about to get busy for my build.

This was the day I bought it:

These are the wheels, Ion 179's.

I am installing a Pioneer AVIC 930BT this weekend.
Cruise Control, back up camera, and Scooped Hood have all been paid for!

Bushwacker fender flares, and a lift next.

    Pics to follow....

I got my tires mounted and balanced today. It warmed up quite a bit today, so the roads got very sloppy... My poor Taco is filthy.

I've added cruise control, oem back up camera.

Tires are 255/75/17. Factory take offs from a 2011 Jeep Wrangler.

Next, 2 or 3 inch lift.

My 2011 Tacoma was prewired for the back up cam. I installed the camera in the tail gate... about 30 minutes.

Finding the wires under the dash, soldering an RCA on, making the 12v to 6v reducer for the camera, and finding the trigger to activate the camera on my Pioneer head unit, probably took two hours.

The cruise took about 3 hours. Mostly because I am very meticulous, and triple check everything. Plus I had the whole dash apart, for easy access. I didn't take very many pictures, since everything is pretty much all covered in the Taco forums.

I just added a TRD Hood:

    1fcc4475_f17add36c0db71f844638f83adb1a7262e7c0afe.jpg

It's black. It looks good, but I am not sure if I want to paint it Magnetic Grey, or Matte Black...

    Then I did this yesterday:
    40ff341d_144273dcc0aca6d36b00e1c71199a97c7e301e7a.jpg
    8d46de8d_9261b36695938e1e52a13d8f0a7721046eb6d968.jpg

Took my Chrome emblems and sprayed them with a box liner material. I wasn't after a nice painted finish, but a rough box liner appearance. So far, I love how they all turned out, and the can cost me $9.

    Stay tuned.....

Picked it up at a salvage yard. $150! They had no clue what it was worth. Or maybe they did... they were asking $450. lol Maybe I am good at bargaining!

It's got a few stone chips, but no dents at all. Perfect fit first try.

Is this a Canadian truck? I didn't know that we were issued RC's.

I like the scooped hood on it.

    More updates, please!
