Anything welding

It came today. Now I need to wire a new 30AMP breaker & 240V plug in the garage so I can use it.

I emailed the local welding supply place and they said the smallest tank they have is a 40 cu ft tank for $129 (first fill included).

 

Cool! 40cf would be a nice compact bottle size.

Do you know about cyberweld.com? It's a good place for stuff you might need. They carry a lot of accessories and what not. Reasonable prices.

Haha I know lol. That will be for "helpers" who want to watch. I ordered an auto-darkening helmet, it should be here sometime in the next few days.

 

That spool on the floor came with the gas regulator kit I ordered. It also came with a pack of six .30 tips. woohoo.

The welder came with a spool of .30 flux core wire and 3 different size tips. The gun takes TWECO style tips so I should be able to find them at a lot of places.

 

Yeah I think lowes caries those tips, but tips honestly pretty much never clog up when you're using gas, especially mixed gas and not pure CO2.

 

Quick question.. How do you go about cutting to fit up round pipe at various angles? I have got the 90degree t joint down but can't for the life of me figure out what it takes to do say a 30 degree joint.

 

it depends on if you would want to have two pipes meet and close at the end or if you are just attaching it mid way to another pipe.

Reminds me of the California style welding hoods. No head gear and no handle.

 

You need to use a tube notcher to get the tightest fit. Harbor Frieght has one for pretty cheap. Not the best there is but will get the job done if you aren't making a living by using it. Then you buy a metal cutting hole saw the same size as the pipe you are attaching it to. The notcher can adjust the angle and will help cut it at the perfect angle and the perfect shape. This is the best way. some guys use just a chop saw but you will have to use a angle grinder on fish mouth to make it fit better.

No problem man. Also if you don't. Have a drill press a good corded drill will work fine and don't go to fast or it wall ruin the hole saw too fast.
