Thanks TRD. I was afraid you would say that. This looked like the best unit for me, but I'd really like to hide a hard drive in the glove box (cheaper and more disposable than an Ipod), so I'll keep looking. It's good information to have though....

OK, one last question and I'll stop pestering you. :D Is there any way to change the illumination of the hard controls? I have a 2012 and it uses blueish leds. If I'm going for stock and the leds don't match, I'd be better off going with a different head unit anyway. Thanks!

Make sure you guys go with a name brand, rosen sounds like Its a decent one.

I purchased one of the non-name brand ebay units for my wifes rav4 . Thing looked and fit great, then the thing just stopped working after a few weeks. Screen turned white and I couldnt get the unit to do anything..

So learn from me , sometimes spending the extra $ is worth it. Cause I pretty much lost $350

Homelink Mirror, mud flaps and interior LEDs. so far

look at alibaba on a search. Looks to me like there are a couple of suppliers for this type of nav system. Name brand may not matter much because of where and how they are sourced. Perhaps all that matters is who produced them. I have no way of knowing if one manufacturing plant is better than another. Oh the joys of all the chinese outsourcing going on today. Hopefully they are all good. but.....

My truck is an 05 so it doesn't have the aux input. But I heard that it still works if you have the stock aux input.

Danny - Do you know if there is there an option to change the illumination color on the AXT from orange to blue? I'm talking about the hard controls, volume knob, and mode buttons and not just the screen. If you can, it looks like that one would be a perfect fit for me.

    Thanks TRD.

Seems like Rosen is most common amongst forum users. I would love to let you guys know you dont have to pay the inflated prices they charge. I believe its like $900+ for a new one and a refurbished one on ebay goes for about $700? You can get the same exact factory look with a better processor than that of rosen for CHEAPER!!!!

Looks great. I have seen this unit alot.. same concerns as with Rosen tho.. 1: can you search your ipod alphabetically.. like skip to artist that start with M.. instead of scrolling through my 4k+ songs. 2: does It support an amp and subwoofer along with having controls, like sub power level, on/off, frequency of power or anything like that. And 3: Equalizer? I saw the bass, mid, and treble.. but anything else? Those three things are the ONLY issues holding me back from purhasing any of these units. everything else is fine. Thanks!

You can search your ipod alphabetically but would not be able to search just by letter. You can scroll down the next page so you can skip some letters, basically how you would search with your iPod.

It does have RCA to support an amp and subwoofer. If you do connect a subwoofer I recommend you have a seperate amplifer to power it as the unit may not have enough power to hear the full potential of your speakers.

There is no equalizer, pretty much just bass mid treble..

Can the antenna be mounted on the roof of the truck? Does it have a magnet similar to an XM/Sirius antenna on it?

I got my Rosen nav installed on the weekend and so far so good. I got it from the same guy on Ebay for $679 including shipping. I was a bit disappointed that the included maps with the unit did not contain any roads in Canada even though Rosens site says all of North America. What's nice is the maps are easily upgradable by removing the Micro SD card, going to navioptions.com, pick what maps you want and away you go! The navigation works great, there is no jitter or delay in the map scrolling at all when you are moving like some cheaper navs have. The nav use interface is laid out pretty good too, it didnt take long to figure everything out, and you can even choose a different car icon to display on the map!

I'm still waiting for the Sirius tuner (SCC1) and the DP-1051-1 wire harness to get the satellite radio working. The two are sold as a kit and are called the DP-1097 just in case somebody wants to go this route.

The Bluetooth hands free calling works very good. The sound is clear and my phone automatically connects no problem when I get in the truck. As Taylor mentioned it would be nice to be able to import your phone numbers.

The MP3 option is weak. Basically you put a CD in and it rips it into mp3s. The only problem is it does it in real time and the quality is not very good, doesn't really make a difference as I use an iPod which does work very good on the Rosen.

I haven't messed around too much with the DVD option but what I do know is it does not play mp4's or mkv's.

All in all for $679 this thing is great! The quality is excellent and it fit perfect, no rattles or squeaks at all.

You and Taylor both are lucky. I wish I did not paid the $1250 but oh well there's not much I can do. I still like it overall and I agree with the MP3 mode its wack. Stopped using it when I learn that it rips music in real time. Also what video format does this unit play? Do you know?

You have to pull the knobs off the stock radio, remove the clips all around the radio and slip the radio off. Behind it you will see a couple more screws holding the clock/hazard panel.

Rosen owner: When playing mp3 cds, ipod mode, and SD/USB does your song start where it left off or playback from the beginning when restarting the vehicle?

Does anyone know if the Rosen Navigation unit comes with a wireless remote?
