2011 Taco I've researched swapping a steering wheel airbag seams very simple 2 mounting screws & 2 wires

however ?1. when the airbag is deployed is'nt there a sensor on the front bumper that needs to be replaced also?

I believe it's referred to as a clock spring.

Hello Jason excellent infor. would you happen to have the procedure for replacing ABs?

    couple more ?s
1.in you'r labled image is the AB ECU referred to as the center AB sensor?
you say to just replace the ECU However
can this ECU be reset after a AB deployment? I see companys offering this service for
around $50. can I reset the sys. myself? if yes what is the procedure?

2.can the ECU be easily diageniosed w/ a series of # of blicks of the SRS light on dash?

3.can one code have a couple of broken parts to the AB sys. like 1 driver AB and also front AB sensor?

    4. if a driver side AB deploys doe's the seat belt also have to be replaced?

5.is it true only a actuale bodyshop can legally install AB? I'm thinking not
or is Ebay sellers of SRS stuff willing to sell these parts to anyone?

    6.what is the DLC3?

7.lastly is the clock spring built into a new AB assembly?

is this the sensor on the front of truck?

Jason I think I understand the SRS now.

disco battery wait 10 minutes plan on replacing impact sensor, air bag, clock spring, and other end of clock spring connecter and seat belts.
install the above stuff, then reset the ECU and it's the last thing to plug into the SRS then connect battery done.

would like to know how to reset ECU w/ a small jumper wire.

I have read that the soft codes on the Toyota will reset itself after X # of key cycles?

the clock spring attachs and plug into the back of air bag.

Not sure about that last pic with the pigtails. If you are thinking of splicing in new pigtails, i wouldnt do it. The airbag system needs to be perfect, if you dont splice those perfectly, they could ground out and cause deployment of system failure.
