Also, being in the state where there is zero separation of church and state, i get to witness all the troll-tastic ways the LDS church gets to flagrantly promote itself.

Again, religion and politics go hand in hand, and both subjects have proved time and time again to be a hot-button issue, full of misinformation and angst for people who dont see eye-to-eye.

Yes there are 12 apostles and a Prophet but they are not appointed because of them claiming a revelation. No one can elect/appoint themselves into any position in our church.

We DO NOT believe in the trinity idea but that the three personages are "in it together" and work towards a common goal. Is evidence necessary for EVERY aspect of a religion? I thought that was what faith was for...

God. Mormons claim that God the Father was once a man and that he then progressed to godhood (that is, he is a now-exalted, immortal man with a flesh-and-bone body). To us, God has always been God (this would take way too long to explain in full details for me, sorry). BTW everyone is a spirit, some have mortal bodies, and some are resurrected (God with flesh and bones for example)

Okay so we believe (grossly simplified) that in heaven there was a big meeting as how to test us so we could go to different levels of glory based on how we perform. The two main ideas were

1. Christ act as our savior to accept our sins upon him and give the glory to Heavenly Father (presented by Christ)

2. Satan force everyone to be perfect so everyone would be equally righteous, Satan wanted all the glory (presented by Satan)

Three kingdoms. Mormons believe that most people will end up in one of three kingdoms of glory, depending on one’s level of faithfulness. Belief in Christ, or even in God, is not necessary to obtain immortality in one of these three kingdoms, and therefore only the most spiritually perverse will go to hell. But the Bible teaches that people have just two possibilities for their eternal futures: the saved will enjoy eternal life with God in the new heavens and new earth (Phil. 3:20; Rev. 21:1–4; 22:1–5), while the unsaved will spend eternity in hell (Matt. 25:41, 46; Rev. 20:13–15).

Okay so Heaven is commonly accepted as (Celestial and Terrestial Kingdoms) and Hell as (Telestial--still a glory) then Outer darkness, that is for people that have pretty much seen and talked to God then denied it later. So kinda confusing so Heaven and Hell sure is easier

Sin and atonement. Mormons believe that Adam’s transgression was a noble act that made it possible for humans to become mortal, a necessary step on the path to exaltation to godhood. They think that Christ’s atonement secures immortality for virtually all people, whether they repent and believe or not. Biblically, however, there was nothing noble about Adam’s sin, which was not a stepping-stone to godhood but rather brought nothing but sin, misery, and death to mankind (Gen. 3:16–19; Rom. 5:12–14). Jesus atoned for the sins of all who would trust him for salvation (Isa. 53:6; John 1:29; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:24; 3:18; 1 John 2:2; 4:10).

Adam was commanded to "multiply and replenish the earth*" and could not have kids in the Garden of Eden.

We also believe that men are punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression**. So yes we believe it was a sin (transgression.)

Yes we believe that everyone that came to earth will be resurrected, but eternal life means living in the Celestial Kingdom with God (at least according to us )

I better hurry up and post before it's too late. Religion is interesting to me so even though we don't have the same faith, I have much respect for you. So, Whats the deal with the Mt Meadows Massacre? What are your thoughts? No religion is perfect, and I guess no evidence to show the church as a whole was responsible, but no evidence to say they are not. Working with local indians to kill Men, Womwen and children passing through to Ca...Not cool. I know there are extreamests here and there, but this is kinda crazy...

IMO a big screwup for a group of Mormons, our church tried to "sweep this under the rug" for awhile but has admitted it and put a plaque there iirc about 10-15 years ago

people are different and have diff. opinions, beliefs, and wants from you. you may not understand why or what could possible lead them to their reasoning ans solutions. you just have to accept it. not everyone can agree with you or have your same ideas. the sooner you accept this the better

I love that people have different views! Imagine how boring car shopping would be, well here we have the blue corolla, here we have another identical corolla, here we have another blue corolla, etc... I am not asking people to agree with Mormons (or me) but just in case someone had a question as to why Mormons believe something or if something was true. If I seem to be demanding everyone go convert to Mormonism I definitely do NOT mean to. I like my church and if people are looking I will try and offer my views to help. (ex. I dated a girl for over a year who was looking into a nondenominational church and encouraged her) Find something that works for you!!
