Anyone clean the intake?

    Do any of you guys clean the intake manifold and throttle body regularly? My local mechanic is trying to charge me $100 to clean it for me. He said it is quite dirty. What would this process entail?

    BTW, I did put some seafoam in it today and it smoked like crazy. Going to do this tomorrow again, then put the rest in my gas tank.

    I cleaned it once. That was after i dunked my truck,

    and imploded my open element filter. Other then that, i wouldnt worry bout it if you are goin to run seafoam.

    Ive done it a couple of times! Real easy to do. Just go get some CRC intake cleaner and start spraying!:) use a small brush to get the hard to reach places.

    getting there....
    i clean my throttle body every 10 to 15k miles. keeps the idle in a good spot.
