I agree we need pictures or all recommendations are uneducated
A 3rd option in to fill them in solid.
Not my cup of tea, but obviously, some people like it.

Whoa! that looks really one off, I like it man. It almost looks too... Blank lol it would look good with some kind of bumper on it to kinda take away from the missing triangles.

    Look at build!
I dont have any body work experience but ive used the stuff a time or 2 building speaker boxes but i knocked mine out in one weekend about 8 hours total but then hit a deer and it completely sepertated and i had to re-create about an 8" strip of the bottom of the grill surround and it came out flawlessly and you would almost never know it if i didnt say anything and you didnt look to close.

Hey man don't feel bad. We've all screwed up on something on our trucks before. Some a lot worse and more simple than your dilemma. So its okay, especially since it was your first time. Honestly I have to agree with everyone else This thread needs Pictures! Also check out " Bondo-glass" I have used it on plastics and it was awesome!

    G'day All,

Gonna step out on a limb a little here regarding the Satoshi process for the plastic Tacoma grilles. As I've done body work, fiber glassing, and R/C model air craft for years, I would bet, even without seeing pictures of your goof, some well spent time glassing, using bondo, and sanding could produce miracles.

    Cheers

Easy there Senior. Who do you think you are, Bondo Jesus?

    Laughing...

Chaos, Senior is right. Just put your man pants on and fix the damn thing. My four year old uses a Dremel. I love my kids and wouldn't downplay their intelligence, but they don't yet "study for finals".

    Break.

Senior, CSCO! Where at? I lived there for years. Folks are still there.

Got dammit I wanna see some pics of this fallen TacoBro's poor facial unit!! That way, I have visual proof that I'm not the only person to have come up with some pipe-dream of a personal build project, only to have it go totally fuggin' sideways, fall apart or otherwise be considered an epic fail.

Hey bro, if you're still readin' this thread, don't fret. Man I got some stuff on my truck that looks totally tricked out and pro factory. But I also got some stuff on my truck that didn't go as planned.

My lift kit went belly-up because I'm a wedding photographer, not a fuggin' Toyota mechanic. Hence, my truck was on blocks for three days while I spent all of my bro-points trying to sweet talk my buddy (who DOES know how to work on things more complicated than a toaster, unlike me) and get him to bail me out.

My stereo install went sideways because I bought the custom system piece by piece over the period of a year because I'm fuggin' poor, not installing anything until I was ready to do the whole project at once. However, few things lined up on the dash and 3/4 of the way in to the install, we learned that I needed some goofy plastic spacer thing to get the door speakers installed. This led me to driving around for nearly a month with all four door panels removed & stuffed inside the back seat until I could scrape enough money together to order the speaker spacer thingies and revisit this project. That project nearly made me decide to gut the fuggin' truck and just drive around listening to music thru my iPod and just wild-ass-guessing on my speed, engine temperature and all other vitals on the dash console because my dumb ass got all excited about this project & attempting the dash removal project before my buddy came over so I could impress him with my "expert" mechanical abilities. Never mind the fact that I knew nearly nothing about how to install the stereo either and if it weren't for yet another of my great friends bailing my pipe-dreamin' ass out. He helped me immensely with this project.

Long story short, it's just part of the hazing process known as TacoWorld. Or, as I like to refer to it as, TacoDome. Welcome to the 'Dome, bitch! If you didn't see the movie "Waiting" please do so. That way you'll know I wasn't just calling you out, but reciting an infamous quote from Dane Cook in said movie that seems appropriately, and humorously, applied to your situation.

So here's the deal, it's just like that one dewd said in a previous thread: you're gonna need to go ahead and come forward with those pics. Yeah, some haters are gonna hate, and some point-&-laughers are gonna laugh & point. We'll basically burn you like Tosh.O (do I hear Taco_O out there?! But then someone old-schooler (on his 3rd or more 'Yoter) will take you under their wing, provide some scholarly advice and set you in the right direction.

So come on, old school Taco'ers, how about it? Let's help this little bro out? He can't be more than a kid barely in college? How fuggin' smart were WE when we were his age? Jeeeez, I shudder to even try to recollect the stupid crap I pulled at this age. Maybe the dewd is a complete tool and we should roast him, but I'm guessing that by his humility he is probably one of us....many a year ago and trying to make his 'Yoter as original and cool as he can so hopefully this weekend his girl, or maybe some random hooker hell I don't know, will turn her head and notice his attempt at making his Taco look unique in an effort to make himself look unique. Thus, prompting said female (I'm only guessing he's straight, so no offense intended if he's not) to expose those "personal spaces" that she was told never to offer up to strangers as a kid and give this man a fuggin' break. So come guys, give this dewd some advice!!!

As for me, I own a 2006 and STILL haven't even attempted a Satoshi DIY. Hell fuggin' shit, I still don't even know what the hell a Satoshi is?! Is it some mythological snow man-ape in the artic tundra? And is THAT why Toyota named their bigger truck a Tundra?! And will said Satoshi man-ape-creature come down to my temperate climate land in the U.S. and attack me if I don't do a pro job at my own Satoshi grill? And are my peer Taco'ers gonna roast me because I talked of the mighty Tundra on a Taco forum?! Jeezus, my mind is blown now, I'm out.

Best of luck to ya brother. And a thanks to who ever helps this kid out. Peace to ya'all.
