Well, after doing some research and hearing about people using their mp3 players and Ipods with their stock radios...I decided to take a different route. I have a Blackberry Storm (9530) phone...it has an mp3 player that comes with 8 gigs of memory. Since it has an aux port, I decided to give the AIP-TY02-ID connector a try. Now, some people have complained of low volume levels after hooking up their mp3 players to the radio and I had a feeling I was going to run into the same problem...until my Blackberry came to the rescue! Its programed with an audio booster and equilizer for mp3's! I also used a program called mp3gain (http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/) that boosts mp3 file volumes. I hooked it all up and the results were great! The volume still is not loud enough to drive on the highway with the windows down and to hear the music with true clearity...but its still sufficient otherwise.

What makes this even better is I only paid $4.99 for the AIP-TY02-ID connector and $5.49 for the 12ft aux cord (I''m always looking for a deal :D). So for about $10.50 I now have mp3 capability and satellite "like" capability (with the use of slacker.com for Blackberry's)

note: If there is anyone out there with an X-SP that plans to pull out the radio...make sure to get some Scotch or 3M heavy duty double sided tape to fix your sweet CF dask kit afterwards ;)

Here is a quick follow through for those BB Storm users curious about the volume booster and equalizer:

Main Screen...select "Media" or "Music" however your BB is set up
    [IMG]

Select "Music" and the Music screen will appear
    [IMG]

Now press your "Options" button and the following option list will open
    [IMG]

Select "Options" and your Media Options list will appear
    [IMG]

You will now see options for "Audio Boost" and Equalizer. Turn the Audio Boost to the ON position and I chose the LOUD option for the Equalizer.

...and you're set! Enjoy you're new mp3 capable Tacoma!

NICE. I have an iPod for the truck, but my BB Storm is used a lot for plugging into boom boxes / etc.

    Thanks for the tip!
