Turned Off To Sit Ups Because Of....

I had an abdominal hernia repair. I never had the hernia until I started pushing myself hard on sit ups. I asked the doctor upon examination if it could have been the burning sensation in my abdominals after doing sit ups and he said yes. So now I don't like doing sit ups

 

Do the plank instead. Works just as good as situps without killing your back.

 

but seriously, what's a plank?

NO worries- Just trying to be a bit funny. That whole planking picture thing was funny- but yeah...Makes it hard to find out about the exercise.

If you keep looking you'll find a lot of variations of that plank too..Pick one leg up off the ground, or an arm...or both if you are froggy. Turn to the side and raise the arm off the ground straight up. etc etc.

 

leg raises tear my abs apart. I like to do the plank cycle it is: regular plank for one minute, side plank one minute, regular plank one minute, other side plank one minute, regular plank one min. Do that 2x and your abs will burnnnn
