Quick Help

Does anyone know exactly how to take off the air in take hose leading to the engine? There is a screw with a little blue plastic piece just below the head of the screw. I tried just unscrewing it but it doesnt wanna budge.

FYI I am trying to install one of those dumb tornados so I can see for myself if they work or not at improving mpg. Once the damn thing is installed I will know but when i try to unscrew the screw i feel like im gonna break it.

 

Good luck, I gained 1.3 mpg's by taking OFF my throttle body spacer.

I just got that nuwave oven thing, made frozen turkey burgers last nite in about 12minutes and they were perfectly cooked,

This reminds me of when my boys first started driving. They wanted to add every bolt on widget that promised more horsepower or better mileage. Drop in air filters that would add ten horsepower, spark plugs that would add 10-15% more horsepower. You try to explain that if this five dollar widget would improve things this much the factory would add it and add fifty dollars to the price. I remember when I was in high school one of the guys was talking about replacing the front disc breaks on his mustang with drum breaks because someone told him disc breaks drag and he would gain a second or two in the quarter mile by going to drum breaks.

 

Yup I bought one 2 yrs ago. I wanted so bad to see something of an improvement. 6 months ago I told Chris4x4 I had one in there. He goes "Frank-why? Listen, take that thing out and tell me if you see a change"
..so I took it out-MY TRUCK RAN BETTER WITHOUT IT! and has been ever since. Those things suck, and in my case made performance a bit worse than I realized

 

no offense to you, but it seems as if anyone will do anything to see if they can make their truck go faster. its like " oh man, im gonna get a CAI, it'll add 15 more hp." yeah i tell people all the time "bolt on performance yields a LITTLE bit of hp gain. nothing signifigant." say a CAI or a Exhaust. at most in combo you might see 8 more horsepower. thats at a maximum.

 

exactly. say, chris, if he had a bolt on exhaust, do you think he would see a gain or because of the loss in back pressure,or would he lose low end hp?

 

well, say it was a 2.5in inlet and outlet. complete kit. how do you think it would fare?
