I usually play regardless. But I get a few more tickets when it's insanely high. I'm in a pool at work as well that plays weekly. We have about 33 in that.

If your state doesn't tax lottery winnings you're looking at around $270 million after taxes if you take the cash option.

i'd take the payment option...no need for that kind of money up front...that way I have an income for MANY more years.

I buy $5 every time it gets above $100 million. Since its now $500 I will buy $25 worth tonight. I think I might win but probably not.

Last night my mom asked me, "if you win, what kind of car will you buy?" I said "well, i'll probably keep my tacoma and maybe buy something else later"

She then said "no seriously, what would you buy?"

I said "seriously, I like my tacoma"

Id take the cash up front myself. Never know what can happen with annuities. Invest and live off the yearly interest or dividends and not even have to touch the remaining money.

I find it funny how everyone goes all :goingcrazy: because it gets over 100 million or whatever, like 3,4, or 10 mill isn't enough?

For normal lotto players they probably don't get crazy as much but the big figures draw in the people that normally wouldn't care to spend money on it.

And while I'd agree that a few million is more than enough and I'd be happy with that the difference between 5 million and 250 million is the difference between me still working and just knowing I have a secure future even if my 401k tanks and me never having to work a 9-5 again if I so choose.
