So I've been wanting a rechargeable flash light to keep in the truck for a while now. As opposed to going with the Maglight, I decided to go for a Streamlight Strion LED with the 12V Charge Cradle and mount it in my centre console. The brightness and distance you get out of this light is incredible, not to mention the quality of the the whole package. Really happy with this purchase! :D

That is an excellent, clean install. Did you run the power through the console as well? Or are you just gonna plug it in and charge as necessary? This is exactly what I was looking for, but am unsure how to run the power to charge it, and to hide it all properly.

Nice Job. Been lookin' for a good mounting location, seems you nailed it.
I've got a couple Stingers, and been meaning to mount one in the truck.

Yep. I love mine, but it would be hard to use it for a dedicated truck light. It's rare that I need a flashlight in the truck, and the two maglites will do the job.

Looks like a clean install OP.

OP looks great, and good choice, and clean install. People that think Maglights are good lights must not have ever seen a real flashlight. I'd as soon to have a Bic lighter handy...

I've picked up a few LED Maglites on sale at Home Depot (black friday, Xmas, etc). For the money, they are a good buy. I agree with you on the incandescent Mags though. I used to think those were bright. The first time I picked up a Streamlight, things changed.:D

They are right around $100 with a charging mount and two (AC, DC) cords. Well worth it if it gets used often. Otherwise, a regular flashlight with lithium batteries in it can sit in the truck for up to ten years and be ready to go if needed.

Maglights and Surefire are the most overrated stuff on the market. Now wait, Surefire is a GREAT brand, and solid light, but you can have much more for so much less, it's crazy. Maglights, meh, (I own a few) I'd as soon have a sharp stick in the eye, if that was my only light.

My dad had a rechargable maglight sitting around that I just slide it in between the seat and center console. When it needs to be charged I pull the charger out, snap it on, plug it in, and put the light back where it was. Usually take it off in a day or two and I'm good to go again! It is pricy though. If we didn't already have the rechargable one I would have bought an LED maglight and just have some spare batteries. The LED maglights are pretty badass

Compared to non-led lights? I'm no flashlight connoisseur, but in my experience the LED maglight has done just fine by me. Also comes in handy in case you ever need to give anybody a good wack in the head ha
