Workman has had his 2006 for two years now, and has done one "mod"...Coverking Neopreme seat covers. Workman loves them. An OME lift may be in Workman's future, but for roughly $1300, he thinks it might not be worth it. Workman is afraid of getting the "vibes" from any lift over 2in, and likes the way his Tacoma rides as is. Stock his Tacoma has had plenty of clearance to get to where Workman wants to go off road as well. Sliders might be better for Workman than lifting, and He lives pretty close to CBI.

You're not alone, and please do not feel out of place. Nobody here is going to criticize you for what you do or don't do to your truck. And if they do in any kind of unkind fashion, OZ usually puts them in their place. ;) At least that's been my experience. This is a great place to get good advice and information on your truck, as well as meet some really fine folks and have some fun.

I do mods that serve a function for me. The only mod I have planned that I don't consider functional, is I'm on HomerTaco's waiting list for a grill; I haven't cared for the chrome surround on my grill from the day I bought the truck. Once I get the grill I'll probably debadge or go on a plastiderp binge, again because I just don't care for chrome on the truck. But I've been living with it almost two years now and taking my time to think through what I do before I start sinking money into it. Kind of a "measure twice cut once approach." I won't be lifting the truck because it's my DD and I don't want to give up any MPG.

In short it's your truck, do what you want with it because in the end, your opinion is the one that matters for your truck.

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
I do some mods, but I'm not crazy about it. My truck isn't my hobby like a lot of guys. And where I live crazy offroading isn't happening. I'd have to drive two hours to wheel for a few hours to drive two hours home. That ain't me. I love my truck, but I honestly want to spend as little time in it as possible. I'm into the outdoors, like being in them, not driving thru them. When I'm not fishing or hiking I'd rather be hanging out with my little girls (twin two year olds) or at a Yankee/Giants/Devils game. As bad ass as these trucks are it's a distant 4th or 5th for me as far as what I prefer to spend my time and money on. And that's before I even get into the house and responsibility type stuff. Throw in remodeling so I can sell my house and gtfo of NJ and forget it. Took me 6 months from the time I bought billys to the time I installed them. And I did them myself, not even like money was a factor after I bought them. Just never had the time and when I did I had more funner stuff to do with it.

I said the same thing...."leave it stock"...just before I did the 2.75" lvl kit and 1" back spacers. Then 285, 70r, 17 tires. Then bed cover and tint. Then TRD skid plate and painted valance. Then step bars. Then HID's. Then stereo system (2 JL 8W3s, 2 JL 6.5 comp, 2 JL 6.5 coax, JL HD900.5 amp--fiberglass custom box and amp rack). Now I'm 3 daqys into a satashi grille, have 3" lift on order with 295 tires, and plan on doing a light bar and sliders next month. I need a new job with better pay!!!!!

I'm not doing anything major. I'm not mechanical. My biggest mod was adding an Avid light bar with a set of PIAA 520 ATP floods hooked up to the high beams. Oh and I painted the centers of the center caps magnetic grey. :)

My mustang is a money pit. The truck all I plan to do is a undercover hard tonneau cover, grille guard with PIAA 510's or 520's, step bars and a under engine + gas tank skid plate. Thats all the big stuff, I need to put a mesh behind the upper and lower grill to keep rocks and bugs off the radiators. Not really moding the truck for anything serious. Just getting some stuff done for a month long road trip to Alaska.

The truck lasted a week before tint. At two months I have this waiting to be installed. :D

I also bought me a new welder to build a plate bumper and a rear bumper. New Tires will be sometime in the next week or so. Stereo to come soon along with replacing all the speakers in the truck. Bed rack is also on short order. Rims sometime.....holy hell this is getting expensive!!! My 2000 Taco I tinted the windows and added a stereo and speakers.

I have wanted a bad ass truck since I picked up my first 4wheeler magazine back in the early 90's. I could never afford it but I am in a better state now so I can finally do what I want and I might finally one day get that custom tag I have wanted for so long. :) I LOVE TW!!!!! Bring on the mods!!!!!

Edit: Forgot....Need some sliders too. :D
