Lighting help, PLEASE HELP!!!!

I'm trying to figure out where i'm supposed to push the wires through the firewall. It doesnt seem like the place I picked will fit. Can anyone give me some help???? Its an 07' Tacoma

 

If you're trying to hook up your HID kit, that harness is supposed to hook up to your OEM headlight harness, it's not supposed to go through the firewall.

 

No, I am hooking up 4 KC lights from the bumper and I have to put them through the fire wall to the switch in the cab

 

I ran some wires where the factory wiring goes throught the fire wall. Followed the balck wire with the blue thing on it.

 

I have an 07 and I ran a couple wires through that spot. It wasn't easy but it worked. I used a straightened coat hanger to make it easier...

 

Was it super tight? I tried that but cant get the clothes hanger in there

 

It was tight. I used the coat hanger to poke a hole in the rubber. I have 2 lights on the front of my truck also...

 

Ok, it is taped off like hell and doesnt seem like I will be able to get it through. There is the rubber seal that is taped off to all the wires. It seems like the only way is going to be to puncture the rubber seal, would that be a problem

 

K, I think I'll have to poke a hole through the rubber. Looks like thats the only way.

 

Same here.The "wires only" went through.

 

A hole in the rubber is not a big deal. The rubber will seal around the wire once it is through there.

 

Thats how I did it, poking a hole through the rubber. It has caused no problems.

Wont be til tomorrow, I have to go to a EMT refresher class. That and I spent too much time trying to get it through the firewall. But I found a couple wires with connectors on the end that were behind the false switches

Does anyone know what these are for?

You could always run it under the cab and up through one of the rubber plugs there, comes up under the carpet under the seats. It's where I ran the switched line from the switch to the reverse lights relay in mine.

 

I got one of them ran through the firewall, I gotta finish it up in the morning. I'll be sure to post some pics tomorrow night.

 

The unused wires/connectors behind the switch covers are for options that we did not get on our trucks. They were on mine too. I just pushed them back into the dash. Good luck with your wiring today...

 

Thats what I figured it was, thanks for the input. I'll post pics of it tonight when I get it wired and test the output

 

I ran my wires last week and discovered the best way to get them through the firewall. Look at about 8 o'clock outside the "boot" area (near the outter edge) where the factory wires are. You'll notice what looks like rubber glove finger (about 3/8" wide). If you cut the end off near the tip, you'll have free access to the inside of your cab. If you look from the inside of the cab at the 5 o'clock area, you'll see a small hole where the wires come through. My wife has the camera. If you need a few pics, let me know. I'll take some tonight or tomorrow. We're going to get rained on here soon, front is almost on us (the one that hit Miss the other day).
Once done, seal the end off and your home free.

I just looked back at your picture and saw it looks slightly different (where the black tube goes in) and also saw you have a '07. Mine is an '08.
