Personally, I would go with the LTS pads.

LTS pads use a ferro carbon compound that is much easier on the rotors as compared to ceramic pads. The LTS pads will also give great stopping power in cold and wet rotor situations. The downside to running the LTS over a ceramic pad will be the life of your pads. A ceramic pad will last longer than a ferro carbon pad but will cause excessive wear to non-cryo treated rotors.

I guess to sum it up, if you don't mind changing your pads ever 30 or 40k miles, go with the LTS pads and save your buddy a handful of money in the end. Good rotors are not cheap, and your pad type should always correspond with the quality and type of rotor being used.

    cool thanks LTS it is....

cools thanks.....another issue. the guy wants rotors that are slotted. so i found these on autoanything.com power slot and EBC slotted rotors. i know not to get cross drilled because they will crack....which one of the two would you guys recommend??

Which ever you got, you should be good to go. The cryo treated will usually last a fair amount longer, and if using a ceramic pad are definitely the way to go. But being you have decided on the carbon-ferro pads you don't have to worry about any of that.

Like wolfpack said, make sure you read the manufactures recommended break in procedure for the rotors/pads. Good luck and I'm sure your friend will enjoy his new setup!

Oh yea, sorry about the repost!

Apparently the cryo powerslots are not available for the 05+ yet, or at least according to autoanything.com Check out these two links, one is for the cryo, the other is for a standard rotor.

    http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/61A2722A0A0A2575837.aspx

    http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/61A2723A0A0.aspx

I was under the assumption you could get the cryo rotors, but did not take the time to see if they were actually available.

The regular rotors will work just fine. The reason why I recommended the LTS is because they are easy on the rotors. + you also get good breaking qualities from them with low dust. A lot of people make the mistake of using ceramic pads on rotors that were not designed to take such a hard pad, in turn they end up wearing prematurely and the dealer claps their hands.

This place has your cryo rotors, I've heard good things about these guys. Kinda spendy, but worth it.

slotted rotors have more surface area, not less

I think he meant to say that slotted rotors have less contact area.

Slotted rotors work better for several reasons, chief among them is that they dissipate the buidup of gasses much better.

Really? What would be a good argument against them?

They certainly work better, that's for sure.

I put on Hawk Performance front brake pads and my pedal feels softer, even after bleeding the lines off. Any ideas?

Did you change anything about the lines/fluid?? Cause just pads shouldn't change pedal feel..
