If this is the same model that my friend has the the picture is downright UNREAL. When you watch HDTVs, you will notice that some have noticeably better HD images than others - this is one of the ones that look better.

I would be seriously considering this if 1) I didn't live so far away, and 2) my new apartment comes with a 42".

Amazon is selling a similar used for $1,400 shipped, so this is still a good deal, especially if you can get it local. My friend bought this new for $2,200 or so.
EDIT: Didn't notice he was including the stand. That's even better.

Thanks, buddy. Too bad Oregon is a bit outside of a "reasonable distance!"

You're right-on about the HD on this TV. I really have loved it. I wish it fit in the entertaiment center we bought.

Mind sending me a link to the $1,400 Amazon ad? I wouldn't mind adding that to my ad here and in my company's classifieds.

    Thanks again.

Bumpin’ it to tell two stories about why I'm becoming a cynical person...

    Story 1:
A few weeks ago I get a call about the TV from a guy who saw it on my company's classifieds. He says, "When we get our bonuses Friday I'd like to buy your TV." I even offer to bring it to work w/ me that Friday and follow him home afterwards, which he appreciates. I get him to say that he "commits to buying the TV."

I use his assured commitment to purchase a replacement TV. I spend money I don't yet have to buy the TV I want from an online retailer.

The Thursday before I’m supposed to bring the TV to work I call to set up a time to meet after work and get directions to his house (just in case he loses me in traffic or something). He says, “Uh… yeah… I’ve actually found another TV I’m going to buy instead.”

    PHUCK!

I call the online retailer and beg for a refund. Because they had not yet shipped the TV they were able to fully refund my money. Whew! No harm done, really. I shouldn’t have spent the money before he handed it to me, but still… shouldn’t you be able to trust somebody who says that they’re committed to buying the TV???

    Story 2:
I get an email today from my ad on AL.com. I call the guy and we agree to $900 for the TV w/o the stand. We agree to meet in the morning.

Due to some stuff going on this weekend, I need to have the TV loaded today, so I call a friend to help me load it in my truck, then I drive to my parents’ house to load it into a van where it can sit overnight. (I’ll be parking the truck outside and the TV can’t sit in the bed overnight like that.) The plan is to get the van w/ the TV in the morning and meet the guy for the exchange.

After I’m finished I get a call from the guy. “Uh… yeah, I was at the pawn shop getting the cash and I saw a 50” for $650… and there’s a 60” on Ebay for $800… I’ll pay you $700 for it.”

We go back and forth a bit about the fact that NEITHER of those TV’s are the quality of this one, and I’m not willing to go that low. He wasn’t moved by the fact that I had left work to load the TV TWICE to accommodate getting it to him in the morning.

    PHUCK AGAIN!

Here’s an idea… how ‘bout people just say what they mean and mean what they say? What’s wrong with people these days? If you don’t want to pay what I’m asking, see if I’ll come down. If I won’t, then wait me out or go elsewhere… don’t commit, then turn around and bitch-out later.

Thats craigslist for ya...I "sell" everything on there about 6 times before I've actually got cash in my hand. People are always gonna come get it that day or are about to leave...never hear from em again.

Lol, my friend posted an unopened printer for $40, came with cartridges, which was half what other people were posting for. He couldn't get a single offer.

He said "screw this", ripped out the cartridges, and sold those for about $80. He reposted the printer for free.

He had so many emails in the first minute of posting that he couldn't bring the ad down fast enough, and had to call 10 people back to quit contacting him.

So now someone has a free printer that will cost them double what was offered the week before.

    People are awesome.
