Got some new brake parts for the upcoming track day ahead. The previous one I still had ok bite but I could feel fade after a few laps. So now it's time for an overhaul. I ordered some Carbotech XP8 race pads and stoptech slotted rotors. Also broke the bank with some motul 660 dot 4. ;)

Hopefully if time permits I also wanna address the suspension, alignment, and engine mods that I have been putting off before the race, however if it becomes to close I'll leave it as is so I won't be too unfamiliar with the truck.

Bedding in pads and rotors on the race track. How cool is that?!

You're going to be black flagged out of Advanced DE, into Time Attack. ;)

another pic from the track day.

As far as mods go, not much has progressed, I dei wrapped the intake, not fully as I ran out but another roll should finish the box. I have not yet test it in racing situations but it seems to help the iat's cooler down a little bit fast after sitting in traffic. Still have my doubts but I would like to fully test it.

Broke my dead pedal at the track day, this tells me two things. One I need to lose weight, lol, and second I need much better seats. BTW if anyone has the oem part number for a new one or wants to sell me one please let me know.

Also as a bit of a heads up I had busted one of my front sway bar links (was in bad shape for awhile) and a friend had a moog replacement so I got it on before the track and this is the result after maybe 1,000 miles.

As the grease is allowed to get pass the seal ( I called this before I installed it) I would not recommend this piece for anyone's ride. Although since most just remove the sway, who cares right? Also if anyone is selling a dual vvti 1grfe upper intake manifold for cheap let me know.

    No problem at all man.

So that roll of magical gold really keeps things cooler or do you just want it there to make sure your MAF lines don't get too hot? Lol "magical" it looks cool if nothing else! :D

Edit: i saw your edit. Makes sense to me!
I mixed Rice with Race and created RiceTruck. And thats what i call my father's toyota

well, I'm trying to keep the iat's as low as possible and considering how hot my oil temps go ( up to 126c or 260f) I can only imagine the egt's. All that heat will travel to the intake warming the iat's and less power is the result of that. This is supposed to help reduce that heat soak. How effective it is, haven't really put it to the test, but at least driving around town and sitting in traffic the intake temps seem to come down a bit quicker then they used to. My testing is pretty unscientific, just an ultra gauge. Others however seem to like it, I have seen alot of spec miata's running it.

I was also thinking of getting an APR carbon hood vent but I do not have the balls to cut my hood. http://aprperformance.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=270&Itemid=44

I hope it works as expensive as it is lol

What about an actual carbon fiber hood with a scoop? I know they exist for the 05-11 tacoma...wonder if they exist for the 4thgen hoeRunners?

Sadly, no. I tried awhile ago from a few companies but they wanted a run of at least 10. Shame it would take off a bit weight. To me this would be the cheapest and easiest way. I also thought of using a GT500 hood vent off a mustang.
