JWaldz '99 4Runner Build - Lifted, 35s, Dual Locked + More

I can mount/balance them myself at work, so i save some $$$ there. Did you have to grind on your tundra calibers or wheels? I was hoping that with the spacers i would'nt have any clearance issues. Thanks.

With the spacers, no.. I didn't have to grind down either. I was just saying to avoid running spacers you could do a little grinding. I have the bigger calipers so I had to run bigger spacers. You might be able to get away with some 1/4" slip on spacers.

Ouchita National Forest - Sunken 4Runner

 

After I sunk it I had to rip the entire carpet out and wetvac it, get a new muffler, starter, tail lights, oil change, and diff fluid change. Was a long week.

Since the whole interior got wet my cargo boxes got wet. The MDF did swell a little but I was able to set them out and dry them fairly quick. I decided to go ahead and wrap them as the exterior of them was no longer nice. 1st time doing this, they turned out ok considering all the bends and angles on them.





Lastly, this past weekend I finally got around to doing the timing belt maintenance. With almost 180k it was becoming way over due. Got everything torn apart and found a small leak from the water pump. Glad to get it done and over with.

Here's the current project I'm working on. After this, I'm working on some much needed maintenance.

Mocked up.. Still plenty of work to be done, but I'm liking how low this thing is gonna sit.

Man, I freakin love your 4Runner. It's just gorgeous. And I think the guy who owns that Taco behind you in this pic lives in/around my neighborhood. I drool over it as it drives by about once a week.

 

Who installed your lockers? Mud connections? I've seen your truck many times going to work in the morning then ran across some pics of you in the Arkansas thread...cyber stocked you.

 

A buddy sent me a link to your thread. Were new to the offroad community, but he just got a Tacoma, and I'm eyeing a 4Runner, so hopefully soon we'll run into you. He's in Rogers and I'm south of you in Gurdon. Subscribed man. Keep up the good work!

Sorry such a late reply!! I had East Coast Gear Supply assemble a front diff for me with 4.88s and an arb locker. Then swapped out front diffs myself with the help of a buddy. For the rear I swapped my non-elocker rear axle out with a hub to hub elocker one and later had a buddy install the gears. lol, where do you usually see me??

Not a big deal...I'm not in a big rush. I'm not sure I've seen you this year, but I was seeing you on 40 E around the crystal hill exit. I've been lazy this year and have been leaving the house a little late.

Have you heard anything about mud connections? I was just thinking about getting mud connections to install an ARB air locker. I could install myself with some friends probably, but I'm a little hesitant to. It may be a little to meticulous for my taste.

 

Yea, I take I-40 every morning to get to work, downtown.

I actually know a little bit about Mud Connection. The owner, Charlie, went to school with my dad and they were friends. His son, Taylor, went to school with me, funny how that works out. Anyways, I'm sure they could take care of it. I don't know how much it would cost. Are you looking at a complete install or already have an assembled diff just needing to drop in. Front or rear?

 

Complete install. One person told me they were good...I was just curious if you had them install yours. No big deal really...I was just fishing for a second approval really. I'll honk at you if I see you. 2013 MGM sport double cab 4x4 with camper shell. Putting on a SOS plate bumper this weekend or the next.
