I waste enough time I don't have on this site. How do you nerds waste time on this and another dysfunctional truck site?

Ha ha is your brain burning yet from that. When I was learn about it my head started to hurt and I still have a cage understanding of it. I guess you want the top spring to be about half as the bottom and collectively be around what you need for the corner weight.

    CONFUSING!!!!

Haha definitely. Well I understand spring lengths and whatnot, and I've read the coil over bible, but I'll need to read it another 3 times to understand the math that billavista is explaining - but I'm diving more into this shit because my fabricator can't get ahold of his friend with the scales lol so I'm going to pick spring rates by finding out what other 3rd gen straight axle guys are running and looking at their setups. Problem is, I can only find one guy running coilovers in the rear too. He's running 16's but has a chopped top and is running a really soft setup. SO, I'm doing math to give me a rough estimate of what my corner weights are, then figuring in added weight of gear, etc and I'll be adding a full interior cage in a couple months and a rear bumper as well.

I'll prob give polyperformance a call this week and discuss it with them. I'm thinking 250/350 right now up front, which might be a bit stiff. I'm still vague on the rear though and trying to figure it out... I'll order some Eibach's from poly and if I don't like them I can exchange them.

But yeah, my head kind of hurts from information overload haha. Plus, I was helping my buddy take apart a 14bolt the other day and we had it chained up and hanging from a forklift and I was grabbing the impact gun and stood up too fast and knotted my head on the fork LOL. derp.

I'm also trying not to run sways so I'll need to adjust the nitrogen, or the valving, or the spring rates.... or a combo... lol fuck

Poly would definitely be a good place to start with getting a good initial starting point. Plus a good trick btw is wrap your springs in plastic wrap, that way if you need to change/return them. They will be undamaged.

As for your rear you could probably run 175/250 and be good. Maybe a 200/275 . But I haven't dived deep enough to get it all figured out yet.

And ha ha nice job with the 14b bud. Nothing like taking 400 lbs to the gord lol

That would be spring rates and your compression valving. Nitrogen will compress the oil so it can do its job unless your running ORIs.

Saw the ORI's in action this weekend. Freaking bad ass. From stock to 3" lift in 3 seconds. They are pretty impressive, but it will be interesting to hear long term reviews from Jerry and Alex.

With my fox resi's in the rear, im thinking i should buy the long travel Icon rear springs. Only reason because its progressive rate springs as well as i think the normal springs would be stiffer. I really enjoy a plush ride unlike most.

    Sound about right? Opinions, thoughts?

you also do more rock crawling and what not. I stick to Pismo and sand and logging roads. I rarely tow, i had progressive rate on my last few vehicles and rode amazing. The resi's helped a ton with ride on washboard and shit roads. I also like my cali lean which im planning on keeping.

This is true. I'm going superflex with my 1.5" daystar on top to give me 4.5" (4" after settling) plus the 1.25" BL. I'm gonna be high in the sky lol. But I'm gonna be adding a rear bumper soon so it won't be overly tall I hope

I hear the superflex are GREAT on road. I think they are progressive too but I'm not sure. Just make sure they are sorta soft. Don't want to rattle your teeth out on those lovely California roads lol.

By Cali lean you mean nose-high?
