2014 4Runner is Hideous!

Oh wow! that interior looks nicer to me than the old one. That silver plastic just looks cheap to me.

 

No, it certainly didn't need it. But it made for a perfect excuse to put on an Allpooh Apex!

 

if only all problems were solved that easily.

 

The mods are similar to what they did to the '12 Tacoma as far as moving to more gloss black. The silver plastic is okay on the cluster rings, but I don't know why Toyota stuck it on the '12+ Tacoma steering wheel... that is a high-wear area, and there is a reason that even on the silver SR5 dashes, the AC controls were always black.

Buuuut.... This new wheel may be a drop-in for the 12+ Tacoma

 

I neglected to mention the two blown tires sustained enroute to the aforementioned brick wall. It wasn't easy.

 

ok let me clarify. the decision was easy given the even that occurred. i think i would have lost my mind if that had happened to me. my truck is my baby! i went ballistic over a door ding. thinking about smashing my front end makes me sick to my stomach. all in all at least you got it fixed and looks pretty sharp from the pics.

 

Yeah, I was none too pleased. Luckily the damage stayed localized to the bumper. But now that she's got a few battle scars I am much less concerned. Life happens, just gotta roll with it

Thanks! I'm slowly building up an expedition rig. I want to be able to adventure with the family, but need some creature comforts having a young child.

...The more I stare at the new 4-runner, the more it starts to grow on me. I think it's so ugly, I have a fascination with it.

 

It's the kind of car my daughter would bring home. She has a soft spot for fugly. You should see the dog she brought home from the shelter. She brought it home 'cause it was so ugly she knew no one would take it home and she didn't want it put down. Like a shelter dog, some will grow to love it.

Luckily I bought the truck right before my son was born, and I've got the time I need to build it up. We'll be able to hit up fishing holes up in Maine so remote it'll be us and the moose!
