Moving from 2011 Tacoma DC to 2011 4Runner Trail

Hey guys, family is growing so need something more functional for the family and decided to go for a 4Runner. There's a dealer nearby that has a 2011 Trail with 60K miles, certified pre owned and already reserved it (not a done deal yet).

Wondering what I should look for on the 4Runner (things to watch out for), any rust issues with the Trails? Any input you may have would be helpful!

I've learned from having the Tacoma here in the midwest, that there's parts that show off surface rust quite easily, even with regular washes during winter... is that the case with 4runners as well?

Also, curious as to what others have paid for their TE's recently.

Probably a little late to respond, but here goes anyway.

My 2007 4Runner, of which I am the sole owner, has no rust anywhere on the frame.

The 2006 Tacoma I just bought has lots of surface rust on the frame.

My guess is Toyota used diff paint on the 4R frames than the Taco frames.

 

Any word on the TE? I want to see some pics.
