97 4runner trail rated rear axle shafts?

I'm looking for a set of trail rated rear axle shafts for a friend's 97 4runner with ABS, yukon gear, and a few others have shafts, but it doesn't look like anything for ABS. Anybody have any ideas? Also this truck has the slit case differential.

These are toyotas not jeeps

How big are his tires? Unless he running 38s or up, the factory axle shafts should be more than enough. Lots of people run 37s with no problem. Hell, people are even running 40s on stock axle shafts.

 

The only "trail rated" axle shafts you are going to find are chromoly.. Regardless, he's most likely going to lose ABS.

However, unless he is seriously having issues with his current stock axle shafts he's wasting his time. Like spoonman said above me, stock ones would still be ok with 37's. Anything larger though you're pushing it.

Has he looked at the possibility of a full float conversion?

He's figuring now that he'll just buy stock ones, because he doesn't want to lose ABS. The ones on the truck now are very torn up- the splines have been stripped off the ends.
