I just bought this 00 4runner limited with 189k miles a couple hours ago. It was the PO's daily driver until today. It runs and drives nice but it has a rust hole on the bottom side of the frame rail near the pass. side front door, so it's easily accessible for repair. I haven't inspected the undercarriage on my lift yet, but the seller told me that that was the only rust hole in the frame. The dealer found the rust when they were performing a oil change. All the p. windows, sunroof, p. seats, radio, heat/climate controls do work. Body and paint is nice and it has the rear diff. lock. Not sure what i'm gonna do with it but it was priced right so i bought it.

I went to work today and put the runner on the lift and took some pics of the rust. I used it today to take my dog to the park, it still drives fine.

Is it worth cutting out the rust and weld in new metal? If not, I think i can still double my money parting it out.

I would hate to see a clean 4runner like that get parted out. I'd imagine you can repair the areas that are bad.

I should've listed it at $2800 lol, but i'm happy to just double my money. I didn't think it would sell that fast. Other than the frame rust it is a clean truck.

The buyer drove down from Queens and paid me the $2200 cash today. He is driving it to a port in N.J. so it can be loaded and shipped to Nigeria. He buys and ships alot of toyota trucks. He said he's not worried about mileage or condition as long as it has clear title and runs/drives.

Yea my lifted 85 toyota p/u went to Mexico. It had a pro comp lift, lockers and a flat wooden bed. I bet the drug cartels mounted machine guns on the back of it. Two mexicans recently purchased a medium duty diesel rollback from me and drove that to Mexico too, they told me they could double their money reselling it there.
