With all of the talk and threads where guys are putting the 2010+ side mirrors on the 2nd gen Tacomas has anyone done the mirror replacement on the 4th gen 4runners? I have a 2006 4runner (my daughters) and want to change over to color matched side mirrors, I guess I could use the ones made for the 06 but the 10+ are much cooler. Does anyone know if the 2010+ are direct replacements minus some wiring of course, my 06 has power adjust but I am not sure if they have defrost or not though. I am not necessarily interested in the power fold or puddle light options so I wonder if the Tacoma mirrors would be an option.

I don't think they would fit good without some modifications to the mirror. Your best bet would be to get a set made for the 06. I don't think the SR5 mirrors are heated. Only way to find out is press the rear defrost in the morning, if they are foggy. If they are clear by the time you leave, then yes, they are heated. I would personally sit outside and watch them clear up to make sure though.
They only reason I say that is because I had an 06 accord with heated mirrors and just bought a 2005 limited 4Runner. I was bummed to find out one morning that my mirrors were fogged and didn't have a heated mirror button to press. So, I pressed the rear defrost, back window was a little foggy, and within seconds, my mirrors weren't foggy anymore! I was excited about that!

I think I may just get the Limited/Sport color matched mirrors. Everything is pointing to the wiring already being there for the heat.

That might be your best bet. I have a limited so I don't need to have color match. They already are!
