I thought I would run this by the TW crowd...

    03 4Runner Sport 4WD V6

On occasional starts I have been getting the VSC TRAC, VSC OFF, ABS and E-BRAKE ON dashboard indicator lights. (No Check Engine Light) This usually occurs on a cold start. For now, when I shut off/restart the lights will clear. Driving and braking performance has been normal.

I checked the Brake fluid level and it is just below max, not over. No problem there right?

Checked the gas cap, tight, seems ok. No problem there?

    Checked codes/Codes thrown:

    C0279
"Battery Short Circuit in ABS Solenoid Relay Circuit"

    C1223
    "Malfunction in ABS Control System."

What is this going to cost me?
Any info would be awesome! Hopefully it is simple...

    I greatly appreciate it!

Are all the ABS wires in good shape? Did you do any work on the truck right before the lights? Does the brakes system seem normal?

I replaced the battery about 2 months ago and replaced the tires about a month ago. Possible culprits maybe?

The brake system does seem normal. When the lights are out, ABS, TRAC and VSC all are working properly. As far as I can tell anyways.

If the lights are on, as expected, ABS, VSC and TRAC do not work. Braking still feels normal.

I will double check all the wires and connections when I get out of work. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary last I looked.

    Thanks for the response!

    Just an update...

I swapped out the ABS Solenoid Relay and the ABS Solenoid Fuse this morning and went to Advanced Auto to clear the codes.

I have been driving around all day with no dash lights popping up. Just to check, I went back to Advanced Auto to re-scan. No codes! I hopefully have fixed it!

    Thanks for the input!
