Got the 235 / 75 / 15

great looking tire - I got them at walmart but beware, walmart wont install because they don't match the original tire size -- but no worries just to sears, they will take your money and do a nice job. no lift no rubbing , the tires , stock rims, truck look 15 times better... wondering why Toyota didnt go with this size from the beginning. 235/75/15

pics to follow

rim size

What is the rim width that you put those bigger tires on. Mine are the stock 6" wide steelies and am concerned that the 235 won't fit on them very well. I think they will fit but just not the way they should. 6' is a bit narrow but 215 or 225 should be good, ....yes, no, maybe? Mines an 04 taco ext cab 4 cyc, 5 speed 2WD and it too came with 205x75x15--trailer size tires. I really need bigger tires but don't want to go with a lift or buy wheels just at least 215s.

I ended up going with the 235 75 15 Yokohama Geolanders. Truck looks good and drives good. I was gonna do the fat bobs lift but im not sure. these new tires give it a good look.

So I know there is already alot been said about 2wd base tacomas.

But I have an 07' tacoma access cab 4 cyl. I got the truck for the MPG so I want as little rolling resistance as possible but I also like the bigger wheel look. I am looking at the Firestone Destination Le 2 in the 215/75r15.
Does this sound like a good choice??? Thanks, first post!!

LEVI, If I had an 07 I believe that I would go with at least 16 rims for my tires but if yours came with 15s - 225/75/15 will fit those rims.

@biker105...
if you are asking about the 235/75/15 ... yes they make the truck look tall, about 2 inches taller and looks great... it doesn't look too rednecky but just tall enough to look a lot better then the stock tires... ill post some pics this week...

cheers

@jballfl,
That would be awesome! I am in the market for new tires, I want to keep the stock 15 rims, but want bigger tires to lift the truck up a little bit. It rides so low it's ridiculous, and I want it to ride like my old 01 TRD quad cab. It would be awesome if it lifts it a couple inches like you said! Pics would be awesome! Any suggestions on tires? I was thinking the all terrains from bf Goodrich, but do they make those in 235/?/15? Also, do they rub?? Like will I notice it and be annoyed?

@biker105 here's my 08 with the readylift kit and 235/75/15 with the stock rims.

They will not rub even without a lift. If you go larger you're gonna have to do the black box mod. I had 225's before the 235's and I can tell you for a fact that the 235's look AND feel better.

Here's a picture from the rear. You can tell they fill the wheel well a lot better than the stock 215's, but I've seen stock's with 245s and they fill a bit nicer imo. Honestly, I sometimes wish I went 245's for the little difference in height and fill alone, but I am more than content with the 235's. I think it was also mentioned before, but with the 235's and a readylift kit (spacer and an extra leaf) your speedometer will be just fine. Parked next to a prerunner without any mods, they barely and I mean barely, sit a bit lower looking from the front.

Looking good aggiepack -- @biker I got the goodyear wranglers at walmart - walmart wont install them because they aren't the stock size but I just drove them to sears and they put them in no problem... they have the big thread and look good.

New Tires/Wheels on 2010 Access Cab

This is a picture of my 2010 Access Cab with 16" Enkei Wheels and 235/65/16 Firestone Destination LE2's. (package deal from Tire Rack). Truck sits 1" taller, speedo now correct (was about 5% fast before), wheel wells filled out nicely and truck runs smooth on the new setup (Tire Rack does road force balancing). Mileage about the same when I factor in the odometer difference, avg 23mpg. Youd don't need to go all the way to 235/75's to get a nice look.

I just put some 18x8 wheels with 40mm offset. The tires are 235 55R 18. They fill the wheel well up nicely without sticking out. The speedo is now perfect.
